#545 – The Cornwall Police Service is proud to re-introduce Kyler, our Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) mentor for 2026!

✨ Kyler Lauzon
Kyler was a member of the inaugural YIPI cohort in 2024. The 17-year-old recently completed Grade 11 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School. Kyler loves sports and enjoys fishing and being outdoors with friends. His future career goal is to complete the Police Foundations program and pursue a long career in policing.

This summer, Kyler will mentor our YIPI ambassadors, who will participate in hands-on learning experiences that foster leadership, teamwork and community engagement while providing valuable insight into policing and community partnerships. Through the program, they will build new skills, gain meaningful experiences and be empowered to make a positive difference in their communities and beyond.

Summer League in Cornwall 🏀🎉

CUCBA President Denis Andre, “We are so proud to support the great job Jacob and his team are doing for this community bringing more basketball and fun with ages ranging 16 and over. It’s a pleasure to watch, not only do the players have fun and laugh but they get to be competitive and keep happy and healthy with the exercise all while playing the game we love”

Jacob Nimene added - “For me, this is important because basketball creates an outlet for young men to feel safe, comfortable, and connected. Some of these guys may know each other, some may not, but for a few hours they are brought together by an orange ball and a shared love for the game.
Working in the school system, I see firsthand the difference it makes when young people are active, involved, and part of something positive. I do not believe that impact is limited to students. Men need spaces like this too. Spaces where they can compete, build friendships, stay active, and feel like they belong”
