Over the Easter weekend it got warm enough to finally weaken the ice slab so that's that. The benches are stowed and good to see the grass again.
We thank the community for getting winter laps in at the oval.

See you in the Fall when we prep for flooding!

Thursday afternoon.
The ice surface is hard. Somewhat ripply but ideal for a slow toodle around the large 400m oval.
And p**f it is going to warm up so some self leveling will probably occur. Check it out and comment, share photos.
Hey, April skating!

Wednesday afternoon.
Thank you Smash & Sons Contracting Ltd for brushing the oval!
Skaters, you will have to check out the ice. Probably not a smooth surface because of the types of recent snow and sleet but as temperatures warm, the surface usually self levels a bit.

Tuesday morning.
Snow had been cleared but the weekend brought a thin, crusty layer. Warmup may help and we are seeing if we can get that layer cleared.

Wednesday afternoon.
We are checking if any snow clearing continues.

Thursday afternoon.
Self leveling hopefully with the surface melt occurring. Fingers crossed for nice ice as we chill again.

Thursday morning.
Well...
Maybe some surface melt, self leveling? Ice base remains solid. We might squeeze in more skating yet, snow and surface conditions pending.

Maybe some self leveling as the surface layer melts? We shall see. Too soft of a surface presently for skating.

Wednesday morning.
Crunchy surface at -4C with +7C on the way. Seems to be good ice under there if a surface self melt takes place.
