Very happy to say, thanks to the wonderful festival-goers who purchased my sea turtle plushies at the The Ontario Pirate Festival, we have now made a donation to the Ontario Turtle Conservation Center! Quite a few people had never heard of them, so here's a little video.

Ahoy, Squidizens! It’s the last day of The Ontario Pirate Festival and well didn’t we get lucky, after a day of too hot and a day of too cold, today is indeed “Just Right”! Although instead of a bowl of porridge, we’re all having a nice bowl of chili. Apparently our mimics like their food hot and spicy.

Ahoy, Squidizens! The Ontario Pirate Festival day 2 reminds of the old tale of Goldilocks and the Three Festival Days. Day 1 was too hot, and Day 2 is too cold (and wet)…pray to the ursine deities that Day 3 is just right!

Avast! The Ontario Pirate Festival is upon us, and the krakens have already started making trouble! As soon as the thermometer hit 26°, they started crashing the mermaid’s pool party! Please come pay his bail. It’s the only way to lift the curse the mermaid put on us.

(Non-bug nerds might be interested to learn that this interesting-looking fellow is a robber fly! They’re rather like flying spiders in their lifestyle. 😜)

Fergus Medieval Faire is in full swing! Fortunately we got our tent up over the pavement before it could fry us like Scotch eggs, but we could still use a sweet highland breeze…maybe we can sing for it?

This world snake day, Linguini is hissing at our hazardous smoke-filled air and would especially love to huff and strike at our provincial government for slashing our wildland firefighting budget by half and then putting out self-congratulatory BS posts on Facebook that they “stand with the firefighters” while people up in the Northwest have had their entire communities burned to ashes for lack of monitoring, water-bombers, forestry management or enough firefighting personnel.
