Well wouldn't you know it- our pet rocks have genealogy going all the way back to the Rennaissance! 😆

It’s extremely late and there’s still work tomorrow, we look like the peasants in The Holy Grail, and it’s going to take days to hose the mud off of everything else. And catch up on sleep.
But the van is working again (and ❤️ to everyone who checked in on us the next morning) and we’re finally home.
See you next year for a hopefully *much* smoother faire, Oxford Renaissance Festival! 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😴😴😴😴

Good evening, Squidizens! Oxford Renaissance Festival is half done, and you haven’t heard us plugging it today for two reasons:
1. In beloved Oxford tradition, our data connection was about equivalent to a third-rate silly straw, and
2. Our majestic squid chariot The Van is currently dead in the parking lot, awaiting a resurrection spell. Of what level, we’re not yet sure. Thankfully we’ve had a couple small miracles to counter our disasters, and thanks to some big-hearted family and friends, we’ve made it back to our hotel safe and sound. But do please spare a thought and a little prayer to the road gods for us, that tomorrow we might bring our beloved plushies back home for the next festival!

Van’s full, the sky is clear, the temps are summery, the All-Rush mixtape is in the stereo (okay okay, CD. Our van’s too new for that 😜) and we’re en route to Oxford Renaissance Festival ! See us tomorrow for your plush delights, Squidizens!

A cloudy and drizzly day? Just the day for a last-minute extra neck dragon! Inspired by rain clouds. ❤️

Just under a week to the year’s biggest, Oxford Renaissance Festival!
…and I have *finally* finished fighting the newest swarm of mimics. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

A brief pause from stocking for Oxford (I can’t wait for the break in September 😵‍💫) to say, Happy World Lizard Day! Abby approves mightily.
(Gosh, she’s definitely grown since the last photo. Hard to believe she’s now 8!)

Very happy to say, thanks to the wonderful festival-goers who purchased my sea turtle plushies at the The Ontario Pirate Festival, we have now made a donation to the Ontario Turtle Conservation Center! Quite a few people had never heard of them, so here's a little video.

Ahoy, Squidizens! It’s the last day of The Ontario Pirate Festival and well didn’t we get lucky, after a day of too hot and a day of too cold, today is indeed “Just Right”! Although instead of a bowl of porridge, we’re all having a nice bowl of chili. Apparently our mimics like their food hot and spicy.
