Today at the Farm Stand we have 4 dozen fresh eggs, some tomatoes, cucumbers and also some freshly picked Banana peppers!

I am planning a bake day this weekend, so look for an update on sourdough breads and other baked goodies!

Well, the weather isn't playing very nice today, so the Social Sunday guided paddle for today is CANCELLED.

But, I will be watching the weather closely for the next few weeks and will schedule a group paddle as soon as we can, so that we can get out and have some fun in the sun before the cold season arrives.

Stay tuned!

If you're passing by the Farm Stand today and are looking for something special for dinner tonight, Maud foraged some Chantrelle Mushrooms this morning. There is just one bag, so make sure to stop by.

Also, now that the Shire To Shore Market is no longer a weekly event, this is just friendly reminder that Gary's Maple Syrup (Lazy Maple Lodge) is available at our Farm Stand every day!

We also have some Eggs from our Hens, and Irmi's incredibly delicious Triple Berry Jam. If you like Jams that aren't overpoweringly sweet, you must try her jam. It's berry delicious! (See what I did there...? 🙃)

Did you know that Trans Canada Trail is hosting an annual Event called the every September??? Neither did we...until now!

And we want to be a part of it!!!! So, we've created a Team called the "Treasure Trail Trekkers" for just our community!

In a nutshell, the Great Canadian Hike is a nationwide fundraiser to help raise the funds needed to maintain, build on and improve our immense Trans Canada Trail system. We have a gorgeous and huge section of trail going through Guysborough County, so let's join forces and help!

How does kayaking help with raising funds for the trail?? I'm glad you asked!! It's quite simple really! Register for the hike and sign up for our team. Then, when you rent a Kayak from Treasure Mountain Inc during the month of September, we will donate 50% (!!!) of your kayak rental fee towards the Great Canadian Hike. Not only that, but the kilometers you paddle during your rental will be counted towards our goal of 1,000km and $1,000 raised. We can do this!

In addition, every km you walk, run, cycle, etc will count, so make sure you log your distances....even if you're just out walking your dog. Share your walks on Social Media and encourage your friends to sponsor you along the way, to help raise additional funds.

Want to know more? Send us a message and we'll help you get signed up!

The hike starts on September 1st.

See you on the Trail....or waterway! :)

Rainy days are great for collecting herbs. These herbs will be used to make something special for the Treasure Mountain Community Farm Stand. I won't share what that is yet, but for a little fun in the meantime, can you name the herbs you see in the basket? Bonus points if you can guess what these herbs are going to be used for 😉

Timber is stopping by to let everyone know that the Social Sunday guided paddle for today is CANCELLED due to the weather. Instead, he is encouraging everyone to relax, curl.up on the couch with a good book, and listen to the rain.

Next week will be the last scheduled Social Sunday guided paddle at the Guysborough Waterfront, so make sure to sign up if you've been meaning to.

If you're passing by the Community Farm stand today, make sure to stop in. Irmi has put out some of her extra produce from the garden...fresh carrots, some cucumbers and Roma tomatoes.

She also has various size bundles of fresh Lemongrass, grown right here in her greenhouse! If you like cooking dishes with fresh lemongrass, she has pre-wrapped some smaller bundles which you can simply add to your dish, as is, and let steep for that amazing flavor and aroma. If that isn't your thing, she also has larger bushels of lemongrass leaves for various DIY applications (ie teas, infused oils or home made lotions, etc).

The stand is open daily (even if I occasionally forget to flip the sign...ooops), so stop in
