Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at ACYA! 🌸
Aikido is often called the “Way of Harmony,” and let’s be honest—if there’s anyone who masters the art of keeping the peace while managing chaos, it’s a mom. Whether she’s a practitioner on the mat or the strongest supporter on the sidelines, we celebrate the incredible strength, resilience, and grace that mothers bring to our community every day.

The Third Scroll: A simple clash between light and dark, perhaps. But look deeper. Here, in the gritty dojo, two hearts clash and in that collision, they grow. A worthy opponent is not a foe to be vanquished, but a mirror in which we see our own limits, and thus, find the strength to transcend them.

The Second Scroll: The shadow you face may loom colossal, a monster from a hidden cave. It is not the beast, but your own fear of the unknown that gives it that massive size. Embrace this fear, breathe, and you will see that even the largest shadow can be moved with stillness.

The First Scroll: This is the duel with your own reflection. The true test of aiki (harmony) is not found in a fight with a rival, but in conquering the enemy that resides within—your own hesitation, your own pride. In this duel, there is no loser; only a deeper understanding of the self.

What a pleasant surprise to have Sensei from the Aishinjuku visit us last night, it was a wonderful class!

What an incredible day yesterday celebrating our 5-Year Anniversary with our youth class!

From Aikido training and games to bowling, pizza, and lots of laughs it was a fun, high-energy day from start to finish!

We’re so proud of all our young students and grateful for the amazing community we’ve built together over the past five years.

Here’s to many more years ahead!
