I was speaking to June Madeley and they were hoping i could share the following . Would be a good survey to take that could help generate some data on pinball in the maritimes.
Cheers,

It has been awhile, but I've participated in some Halifax Pinball events and seen many folks from Halifax at our events in New Brunswick. I've been part of the New Brunswick league since it started. I'm also an academic with interests in leisure studies and a background in fan studies.
I've been working on a research project focused on gender and competitive pinball culture. I'm currently surveying pinball players about general things like experience with tournament play. The survey should take about 10-15 minutes. Participation is anonymous although there is a question asking for contact e-mail IF you want to be in the pool for a round of online interviews. I was hoping you might be willing to circulate this information to members of the Halifax league.
____________
If you are interested in participating, you can follow the link below to take the survey. The survey should take you about 10 minutes to complete. The survey results will be used in my research in 2 ways
1) to gather some broad information about pinball culture and
2) to identify individuals who would be willing to participate in a follow up online interview.
By completing the survey you are not agreeing to participate any further. Personal information will only be requested from those indicating a willingness to participate further. For anyone just filling in the survey no personal identifying information will be recorded beyond demographic data for the purpose of summarizing results in aggregate form. Survey respondents will also be free to skip any questions that they do not want to answer.
If you have any questions about this research please contact me at [email protected] .
This project has been reviewed by the University of New Brunswick Research Ethics Board in January 2026 and is on file as REB 2025-015.
