Horsin Around Riding Ranch 2 hours from Toronto, 90 min from Oshawa, 45 min from Belleville 50 min from peterborough Some for as long as 30 years!

We offer family Trail Rides, Pony Rides, Riding Lessons, Group Events, Girls Riding Camps as well as our Farm Fresh Eggs to the public. Our horses are like family members to us and have been with us for many years. We only use Orthoflex saddles on our horses which means they are always happy to be on the trail and NEVER rush back to the barn. The memory foam in the seat makes it an enjoyable ride for our customers! Our trails go through our hay fields, along the Trans Canada trail (which runs through the middle of our property), through our hardwood bush and pine forest and a nice stroll up an old country road. Our 4 mile ride takes us to the Crowe River where the horses like to stop for a drink. It is incredibly beautiful at this location. RIDING LESSONS: Our lesson program is currently full and we cannot accept any additional students at this time.

MEET SOME OF OUR BARN FAMILY and some of our horses. When you come to the farm you are usually greeted first by Blazer, our border collie and Skye, our LSG dog. Somewhere between your vehicle and the barn, will be 3 Calico cats that all used to be feral and now can't wait to be loved by you.

Next you will meet some of our barn family members. These are our borders and lesson students who help make our barn the most fun and welcoming place to hang out.

These are the people who come out on our rides with us to make them safer for our riders. When we put out an emergency call because we need help with one of our horses. When the freezing rain and brutal cold temperatures roll in and we have 23 horses that need to be brought in and blanketed or have their rain sheets switched to winter blankets - and we can't feel our fingers - they get it done. They are the ones we can count on to watch the barn for us if we have to leave. And when it's "feel like" +40 and the hay has been baled, they are sweating right beside us getting it off the field and into the barn. When the tractor won't start, they are a call away from helping us roll 1000 pound round bales 300' up hill into the pasture. They scrub water troughs, help fix fences, drag cedar rails out of the bush, clear trails and make every day a great day at the barn. But most importantly, they are the most wonderful friends and we love them with all our heart.

So if you are having a bad day, maybe you just need a "barn fix" to get you on track again. ❤️

Making the trip to visit us for a pony ride or a trail ride? Don't forget to stop at a few of our favourites so they become your favourite too!

High Spring Trading Post about 2 minutes from the farm. They have the coolest stuff there! Everything from seasonal stuff to clothes to food, knives, purses and bags, all kinds of leather goods, blingy dog collars, blankets and really thick hoodies at amazing deals, pelts, so many moccasins you will have a hard time deciding which one you like best, scarves, umbrellas, jackets, BEAVER PELT MITTS!!! Honestly, you will lose track of time in here.

The Ranch Restaurant is a must stop on your way home for the best flavours of Kawartha icecream. Even I have a hard time eating it all! The fish and chips and burgers are the barn girls favourites when we can get away together. The staff is always welcoming and ready to make your stop a great decision. It's just up hwy 7 passed High Spring Trading Post, about 7 minutes from the farm. Say hello for us please!

Dan Powell at Powell Power Sports has all the fun toys and it's only a few minutes from the farm as well. If you love the area and want to explore it a little more, take a look at their ATVs, Campers and Kayaks. Maybe grab a new fishing rod for your fisherman for Christmas on the way by or who doesn't want a new shiny ATV helmet with all the bling of pull down sun visor and the regular visor? I LOVE mine. This store offers a "no rush" shopping experience where you have their full attention and every question is answered so you feel confident in your buying decision.

These 3 businesses have been so supportive of our farm over the years and we appreciate them so very much. We hope you will drop in and say Hi and you will see why they are a cut above the rest.

It's businesses like these that make Happy trails for everyone! 🐴❤️

AUGUST 11, 2026 GIRLS FARM/HORSE CAMP. We started off on a mission to find the missing calf... Everyone was looking frantically for the little guy who had gone underneath the electric fence and Jesse didn't give us any clues as to where he could be. But the girls found him and we got him safely back with his mom! We never know how our days will start on the farm.... We got several hours of riding time in, learned about body language of the horses and the importance of keeping our horses safe while we are riding and leading them and away from other horses. We worked on holding the lead rope and the reins correctly, how to control the speed and direction of the horse and proper positioning. We played lots of games with them as well. After a quick swim at the river, they came back and tried their skills at riding and rolling on the barrels working on balance. That is a crowd favourite!

AUG 10, 2026 - Today was day 1 of our Girls Farm Horse Camp, and it started off a little differently than what we had planned. Jessie had her calf last night so we needed to make sure she had a safe place away from the horses to bond with her new baby. The girls helped bring up hay and clean out the water trough and everyone got to meet the little guy. We did some grooming, ba****ck riding, we played Simon says and musical stalls and finished up with a quick swim at the river. We have an awful lot to squeeze into tomorrow now! Everyone got some garlic to take home. If you would like any more we do have some available.

JULY 28/29/30, 2026... OUR FINAL SCOUTS CAMP. We sure had a busy 3 days. We were grooming ponies and pony riding (we took the kids on a 1.5 mile hike!!), pony painting, scavenger hunting at the river, trailer rides through the cows, and so much more. I'm still waiting on pictures to come in from everyone. We haven't had a spare second since camp with the long weekend starting on friday. I will get them posted as soon as I have them. :)

GIRLS FARM/HORSE CAMP - July 21/22/23, 2026. Last day! Today flew by but we squeezed a lot in. Because horse ownership isn't all fun and games, the girls got to experience 20 minutes of stacking hay in the barn this morning. And they excelled at it. We hit the trail again today and added the "mushroom trail" to the mix. We finished up with a quick dip in the river. We are looking forward to seeing a few of the girls back at the Aug 10/11/12 camp. There is still room for a couple more if anyone wants to sign up again. We try to keep each camp a little different so they are always learning something at each one. It was so nice to see the exchanges of phone numbers going on after each of our camps. New friends means new memories and adventures! I will have more pictures as they are sent to me from the other helpers.
