📢 Kids Program Updates!

We’ve made some updates to our kids schedule to help better optimize classes, instructors, and create even more training opportunities for our students.

Here are a few highlights:

✅ Kids Advanced BJJ has moved from Tues/Thurs → Mon/Wed at 5:15pm

✅ NEW: Kids Randori on Mondays at 4:30pm
Randori gives students supervised live practice where they can safely apply techniques, build confidence, improve reactions, and gain experience in a fun environment.

✅ NEW: Skills Classes (Ages 6–13)
We’ve added 4:30pm BJJ & Muay Thai Skills classes focused on: 🥋 Drills & repetitions
🥊 Technique & fundamentals
💪 Movement & warm-ups
⭐ Confidence building

Parents — students do not need to arrive exactly at 4:30pm. Whether they arrive at 4:30, 4:45, 5:00, or right before their 5:15 class, they’re welcome to jump in and participate.

You may also notice some combined age groups in our earlier classes. This helps us create stronger groups and opens up more opportunities for students to get extra training time.

We’re excited about these updates and the additional opportunities they’ll create for our team! 🙌 For questions, feel free to reach out.

Eduardo is back in the building 🇧🇷🔥

World-class black belt Eduardo De Araujo Roque will be teaching classes at the academy over the next week as he prepares for Worlds.

An IBJJF Gi and No-Gi Brown Belt World Champion, Eduardo continues to compete and train at the highest levels of the sport... and fresh off of a double gold win at the IBJJF Montreal Open, we’re excited to have him back on the mats with the team.

Expect high-level technique, hard rounds, some nasty lapel work, and a great week of training 👊

All Renzo Gracie students are very welcome to come by and join us!

Great weekend at the IBJJF Montreal Open 👊

A lot of amazing matches, a lot of hard rounds, and a team that really showed what it means to dig deep.

That’s the part of competition people don’t always see.

Digging deep before you step on the mats.
Digging deep when you’re tired.
Digging deep when things aren’t going your way.
Digging deep when your body and mind are both telling you to stop.

This weekend, we saw athletes challenge themselves in every way possible... against tough opponents, long days, nerves, pressure, exhaustion, and expectations.

And over and over again, this team kept fighting forward.

Proud of our group and the way they continue to embrace the challenges.

Another weekend, another competition 👊

The team is heading to the IBJJF Montreal Open this weekend and we can’t wait to watch everyone get after it.

Some of our athletes have been competing weekend after weekend lately with barely any breaks - just constantly learning, improving, and jumping right back into the fire.

It’s a crazy grind sometimes… but this team seems to love the challenge.

Good luck to everyone competing this weekend. Let’s have some fun out there 🔥

Victoria Day long weekend is almost here 👊

We’ll be closed for regular classes on Monday so everyone can enjoy the holiday, but the mats will still be open.
Open Mat: 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Come get some rounds in, move a little, and balance out some of the long weekend food choices 😄

See you on the mats!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, grandmothers, stepmoms, aunties, mentors, coaches, and strong women who help raise, support, guide, and love the people in our community.

To the women balancing work, family, exhaustion, stress, school pickups, tournaments, late nights, and everything in between… thank you.

To the moms walking through our doors to train, grow, challenge themselves, and take time for their own health and happiness while still taking care of everyone around them... we see you too.

Thank you for cheering from the sidelines, sitting through long nights, helping your kids chase their goals, supporting the team, and showing up even on the hard days.

A lot of what makes a community strong comes from the people quietly holding it together behind the scenes.

Today we celebrate all of you and the love, strength, patience, and support you bring to the people around you.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at K**A.

Rounds, reps, and a room full of (the best & funniest) people just trying to get better everyday.

Big goals are built on ordinary nights like this.

This weekend, our team was competing everywhere - from the Ontario Open to Brazilian Nationals.

Different stages, challenging levels, same commitment to showing up and testing themselves.

It’s not something you see every day... a team competing both close to home and on one of the biggest stages in the world at the same time. It speaks to the standard this group is building.

A big shoutout as well to all the Canadian athletes who made the trip to Brasileiros, traveling that far to represent and take on some of the best in the world is no small thing.

Grateful for our athletes who step up, the families who support every step of the way, and the coaches who give so much behind the scenes.

Proud of this team.

Big day for the team at ASG Lansdowne this weekend 👊

We had a great group step up and take on some tough matches... and for some, a lot of matches. Multiple divisions, full days on the mats, and no shortage of challenges.

What stood out most was how they handled it all.
Adjusting on the fly.
Working through nerves and emotions.
Riding the highs, pushing through the lows.

We’re proud of this team - the effort, the mindset, and the way they rose to the challenge… and welcomed it.
