Sorry I haven't posted this sooner. We've been busy!
Our riders took full advantage for the wonderful weather🌞 . For some it was their last ride of the year, others are going full throttle into November (or until the snow ❄️flies).
Dodge decided to fully absorb every second of sunlight is his favourite position 🐴😆
Our plans for November are working on foundational exercises we learned at the clinic, start packing away the obstacles for winter, close the grass arena and winter preparations. We are hoping to get a few more trail rides🍂 in before old man winter ⛄arrives.
Today the horses got their mini spa day when the farrier came to give manis and pedis. They're so spoiled 🐴🤦‍♀️😄

🐴Support the herd as the seasons change

🍂October is almost behind us, and our horses continue to be at the heart of Swiftwind. Sponsor-A-Horse is a meaningful way to support them as we move into the cooler part of the season.
Whether you visit often or follow along from home, you can become part of our circle of supporters. Take a look at the sponsorship options and choose how you would like to get involved this November. 💚

😊A quieter moment before November💖

🐴 Before October slips away, put a little horse time on your November calendar. Me-Time is a one-to-one, unmounted session where you can spend time with a horse and explore gentle groundwork at your own pace.
A cool-weather visit can be a welcome reason to get outdoors and take a break from the usual routine. Bring your layers and book early. November session spaces are limited. 📅

Sorry for the late weekend post.
We had a great time at the Jason Irwin Jason Irwin clinic this past weekend. I took a lot of notes. He gave Lacey great tips. We now have more exercises to add to our foundational training. It was great to see riders from both disciplines in the clinic. He worked on issues people were having, even taught bridleless basics to another rider.
We almost came home with a couple cats 🐱 😁. They did a great job keeping our laps and hands warm. There was a pony that was fatter than Buddy…I didn’t think that was possible 😆.
Jason did a fantastic job considering his leg was in a brace. Lacey and I are planning next year to bring our horses to his clinic if he comes to the area again.
We also got a trail ride in with our friends late Saturday afternoon. That was interesting. I forgot to take pictures as I was too focused on everyone. Jewel was awesome. Autumn was good and Lacey was leading her on the ground as Autumn needs more in saddle training. I considered it a success as no one was involuntarily dismounted, no blood and we had all our limbs 😂🤣. I can’t wait to go on another trail ride with them.

I had quite a few errands in between dropping Andrew off at school and his pick up time. A couple were getting 3 dog coats off Marketplace for our winter calf blankets this winter. They’ll be warm AND fashionable 🐮😆
I came home for a pit stop to see Ravenclaw 🐱 being quite territorial with the blue tent. Dobby made the smart decision to walk away. We all ended up getting home at about the same time so it was off to do barn chores. While the kids did the horses’ 🐴 feeds, Charles and I went to the back to dump sand in a trail mud hole (tractor almost got stuck), attempted to level out the main trails (rocks are not a blade’s friend) and we used the wood blocks to make mounting blocks on either side of the gate entrance.
Charles showed one of his new trails but I think he forgot we have horses…not mountain goats. I’m so glad I ride in Australian saddle 😁.
