Happy Spring! Vincent’s Bloomfield makes use of so many of its features: wide tires, a comfy rando cockpit, and a lil front rack. The brownish orange colour pops from the leather, .and.go.slow bartape, and housing look perfect on our grassy green frame, and the rest of the polished silver spec is dialled! The Hog’s Back is FUN! Rei got the memo and cranked the fun to 11 with the excellent Anchor bar, making it wheelie-ready. Basketpacking is made possible by the Wald 137 atop a designed M1 rack. All this around our Wiggler stock build!

Designer has brought so many very special products to life here at Bassi! He concocted the Bloomfield, Coyote, Bobby Bar, and so much more. Our latest drop, another Roberto design, is this lovely fork crown, an airy and light biplane design with a touch of drama. We prototyped in-house then had it manufactured by Allotec, the lost wax investement casters in Taiwan who make so many of the steel components that make up our Bassi frames. Expect to see this fork crown on so many of our bikes, and in the meantime it’s available on its own for framebuilders and the full story is online, link in bio!

Despite initially asking us to try a drop-bar bike with brifters, Jeremy wound up doing some test rides and realized he was going to stay a flat-bar guy, no question. This Hog’s Back is based on the Wiggler for trail commuting and touring, with more attention put into the parts where it counts: the knobby tires for ground contact, Cambium Natural Rubber saddle, Gamma pedals, and Love Levers for body-bike contact. A super-solid Ant basket-packing rack from local welding sweeties and some fun crank bolt caps made it a much friendlier-looking bike than the all-black build would suggest!

Malgré sa première idée d’essayer un guidon de route avec manettes intégrées, Jeremy a fini par tomber en amour avec une configuration guidon droit. Ce Hog’s Back est conçu à partir du montage Grouilleuse pour des déplacements urbains et tout-terrains, mais avec plus d’emphase sur les pièces qui comptent dans le contact corps-vélo: les pneus René Herse pour adhérence, une selle Brooks Cambium, des pédales MKS Gamma, et des leviers de frein Paul Love Levers. Une configuration porte-bagages-panier par les soudeur·ses local·es Memento et des cache poussière de pédalier Stridsland lui donnent une allure mois sobre qu’un montage tout-noir pourrait être!
