First open water trip to the Duck Mountains was a fun time! It was the final open water trip of the season for the but we put some hours on the water grinding for some trout. What a beauty area with tons of fun and challenging fisheries.
Thankfully there is a ton of species to choose from so we were able to chase some smallies and walleye as well!

The final of the back to back to back tanks! Pitching out to these suspended walleye sure was sweet. It’s crazy how much livescope has opened my eyes to how walleye go about their day.
This fish was 15ft off bottom on a steep break line that went from 25-32ft. Chasing and circling the jigging rap as I bounced it back at its level. A couple strong runs later and I was able to get a quick measurement, photo and released it back for another day.

The first fish from a crazy back to back to back sequence last weekend. We had been marking big fish for lots of the day and they would do everything but bite. Chasing up, down to the bottom, following for 50ft or more, but just tight lipped.
We circled back later on in the day to some of these areas where we couldn’t get them to go and it paid off. Probably one of the coolest bites I’ve had in a long time!

Saskatchewan just builds them different! I didn’t take a weight on this fish, but it had to be one of the chunkiest walleye I’ve ever landed. The true definition of a blimp when it showed up suspended on the livescope.
Just barely 28 inches but filled up the majority of the board with its belly! You could argue this fish was actually under 28in due to the open mouth measurement, making it that much more insane. It was a crazy 13 hour day on LML with more to come!

Snuck out Saturday afternoon for Mable’s first shed hunting trip with a solid 3 hour hike! Her first find was a beauty and was the highlight of the hike along with a nice matching set! Great day with Wyatt and Mable!
The first of many hikes for her, the weather is getting warmer and soon we will have her first boat trip in the books as well!

March madness has been a fun one so far! I even managed to get out a few times while the March Madness Classic was on. Waiting for flags is a great time to verify catches!
Thanks to everyone who took time to participate and make it an awesome tourney!

Getting caught up on some posts here. My week one clients up at this year were an absolute blast! Some of the most fun I’ve had while guiding!
Being a purely fly fishing group, we put the hammer down on some tank pike in the nice, shallow, warm bays. The guys also took a swing at some laker action in the mornings which paid off with some nice trout as well.
Heading into winter now, I sure am missing spring and being up on an island in the Northwest Territories!

May Long Pt. 2
Couple weeks late! This walleye was suspended 2ft below the surface and 25ft out from the bow of the boat. Quick toss of the hair jig and this walleye chased it 12ft down and crushed it. The spring walleye bite is a fun time of year!
