Flew to Montreal (Mirabel) today, and had a large rainstorm on the same track but just South of me the whole way. Landed on one of my favourite 12,000' (2.3 miles) long runways; but had to 'land short' because the last 3,000' was being used for RCAF CF-188 arrester cable training... who knew CYMX was an aircraft carrier? The cables were all set, but I never actually saw the aircraft.
I wonder if that giant Airbus assembly plant at Mirabel has anything to do with my trip?

This is my favourite 'local'-ish airport to fly to. For most of the circuit and approach you can't see the runway, you just have to trust that it's there:

You know the NOTAM system is broken when even ATC can't interpret what the NOTAM means... Even the FSS in the pre-flight briefing couldn't interpret what the NOTAM meant.
