It's a gluten-free Chocolate Protein Pancake kinda day! đĨ
1 mashed banana
1 egg
1 cup chocolate protein powder
3/4 cup buckwheat flour
1/2 tsp xantham gum
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 - 1.5 cups milk
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Pan-fry till golden and fluffy... serve with peanut butter and a little pure maple syrup! đ

Sunday morning full body HIIT with cardio, strength training, b***y bands, balance, core, inner thigh slalom jumps, wide jump squats sinking into my tight hips, lots of foam rolling (again for my hips, glutes and back!), and finally... hot stretches in the sauna!

My wonderful friend and her husband tragically lost their son, Christian, 7 years ago... Every year, they collect backpacks filled with necessities and deliver them to the shelter in downtown Ottawa to help individuals get through the harsh, cold winters.
My heart aches for their loss and I admire how much they give to honour Christian's life. Last year, I helped in their collection efforts and was blown away by everyone's generosity. This year, I'm helping again and can collect items in Ottawa and Carleton Place, so please let me know if you want to help!

The great thing about waking up at 2:50 when it should be 3:50 is you get an extra hour to... EXERCISE!!! đĨ I really struggle with the dark colder months and seasonal depression, and while it's tempting to hibernate, I always feel better when I workout. Don't think about it, get your shoes on and just move! Whether it's a brisk walk, hitting up the gym or calisthenics at home, moving is good for your body, brain and emotional well-being.
Did a full hour HIIT, most floor work, cardio and strength training with my thighband for amazing compound exercises! Hope I inspired you today! You can do it!! đĨđđĨ

After a brief hiatus (and all the chaos that comes with moving!) it feels great hitting up the gym first thing on a Monday morning! Treadmill running on a steep incline, upper body strength training, and lots of stretches! Stay active, every little bit counts! đĨđđĨ

As a new chapter in life unfolds, my time in Carleton Place is winding down. Soon, we will be back in Ottawa pursuing new adventures and opportunities! We are excited to reunite with close friends, but we will miss the friendships we've made in CP over the last 8 years. đ
Sadly, this means I won't be available to teach classes in CP anymore, but I will be in the area often and still maintain private clients on Saturdays!
Over the last couple of years, I have taught Mom & Baby classes, Kids CrossFit, High Intensity classes, Girls Fitness, participated in school events, career expos, charity runs, skip and hoop-a-thons, and of course... dear to my heart, Seniors Fitness. I love teaching and inspiring individuals to keep moving, and building healthy habits for life. Showing up is the first step! I'm always proud of every client who walks in the room, and works to their best ability.
Last Friday was my last seniors class, and we all enjoyed a coffee social afterwards. I was overwhelmed with the kindest words, hearing how my classes have impacted people, and the friendships that have blossomed as a result. Bringing people together is what I love most, and I am just as grateful for the energy and humour everyone brings.
I am pleased to announce that Tania Munro will be taking the reins and offering 2 seniors classes a week (Mondays and Fridays), so please follow Total Rhythm Dance Studio for class updates if you want to join! đ
My last high intensity class will be this Saturday, June 21 at 9:00 am, so come out and get your sweat on!! đĨ
I'm still offering personal training sessions on Saturdays, but my schedule is filling up, so jump in if you want a time slot!
