Plyometric Pullups or Flying Pullups
Once you can comfortably pull yourself up on a bar so that it feels no different than walking, you are probably ready to begin practising various forms of explosive strength.

It's a fabulous feeling having control over moving your body through space.

So, what's stopping you? Start pulling up on some bars!

Wheelchair workouts!
Several weeks ago Helen fell down the stairs and twisted her knee-she was so upset, but she loved the month I spent pushing her up and down hills and through the city for an hour or more each evening. And I got a great workout to boot!
There is always something you can do to keep fit, strong and healthy.

Helen got to haul herself up three flights of steps on her arms each evening too.

She is all better now, thankfully, so we are back to our regular evening walks.

Helen and I were at the beach in the Gatineau Hills, Quebec this past weekend. I stopped at a fallen tree to take an opportunity to throw in a quick exercise on our way exploring.

Most miss the opportunity.

But, when you integrate exercise into your everyday life, you can make strides forward :)

I am a huge advocate of rope climbing, but living in the city it can be challenging to find a rope to climb.
There are some fabulous alternatives though and in this video, you can see one of them.
Give it a shot. It is much harder to do the way I have demonstrated it. If you want to make it easier, start from a standing position.
If you still don't have the strength use your legs wrapped around the pole to assist pushing you upwards.
Try to come down without assistance if you can.

More fun at the playground-Monkey Bar Flying!
By the time I hit the monkey bars on this video, I was a bit tired from several previous rounds as you can see.

Working the monkey bars is tremendous for building real functional strength you can take to the bank.
