This is the Soccer NS policy for NSSL league games. They do not tend to make broad, city wide cancellations, rather, the Match Official will make the call based on local conditions at game time.

For younger kids and Mini Soccer programs, we will cancel when the "feels like" temperature is above 30 degrees - little bodies have a harder time regulating their temps and the effects of heat are harder on them. Most evenings it cools down enough by 6 pm for our local programs to go ahead - watch for that fog bank rolling in LOL.

Be safe out there! Hydrate throughout the day, well before game time, and avoid being out in the heat if possible.

Stay hydrated! ☀️💦

With high temperatures expected across the province this weekend, this is your reminder to drink plenty of water!

⚽️ Match referees reserve the right to implement hydration breaks during matches so that
players may hydrate during extremely hot or humid weather conditions.

It's an exciting time of year as we move to outdoor soccer practices and programs starting the first week of June. HRM has been out working on the fields already, getting them ready for play. Feel free to go out and kick the ball around with friends!

The school building may be closed, but the fields at GBJH are in great shape and will be heavily used this summer. As always, watch for debris, holes or uneven ground, and do not hang, swing or climb on the soccer posts at any field. Please report any vandalism or dangerous conditions to 311 and let us know as well.

We can't wait to hit the field with you this summer!

Introducing Futsal Fridays!
Our winter players are enjoying a new twist on indoor soccer practice with coed futsal sessions on Friday evenings. Our U15 and U18 players kicked it off last week and are back at it tonight from 6 - 8 pm at Eastern Shore Consolidated!

A futsal ball is heavier and has less bounce than a regular soccer ball, making it perfect for more controlled, indoor play. Futsal provides excellent development of ball handling skills, individual technique, player/game awareness, tactics, teamwork and decision making! And its fun!

Watch for additional futsal sessions and age groups in the New Year!
