Rodeo PG can help! Every year our local entries are off the charts and we love seeing local competitors compete at their hometown rodeo!

Entering local is for those who just want to get their feet wet, compete for their hometown crowd and haven’t bought their BCRA card.

Local entries open by email May 25th and run until May 28th:

Rodeo Prince George knows how to throw a Barn Dance and if you’ve been here before, you know these nights sell out every single year 🤠

This summer, we’re turning it up another notch with Gord Bamford coming to PG for a one night only Barn Dance on June 20th, 2026. From his chart topping hits to energetic live performances, Gord Bamford has spent decades earning his place as one of Canada’s most respected country artists.

Expect a packed “barn”, cold drinks, boots on the floor and a crowd that knows every word.

“That Girl is a Cowboy”

Grace Poffenroth is only 10 years old - and when it looks like she’s been riding for her whole life it’s because she has.

The 2025 Peewee Barrel Racing champion at Rodeo Prince George was born with rodeo in her blood. Raised on her family’s ranch in Riske Creek, BC Grace spends her days horseback - helping her dad with cows, putting in miles and doing whatever needs to get done.

“My dad says he can always rely on me to be there until the job is done.”

Last season, Grace was the BCRA Peewee Barrel Racing Season Leader, and her horse Peppy was named Barrel Horse of the Year - following in the footsteps of her first horse, Peanut, who earned that title two years in a row. Grace says she picked up her first major win at the Williams Lake Stampede Barrel Summer Series in 2024.

Winning Rodeo Prince George was extra special.

It was her first Troy Fischer buckle.

“I was so proud of Peppy. She takes care of me every run and is my best friend.”

Before a run, there’s no big routine.

“I just go for a slow ride and talk to her.”

A typical week doesn’t look much different.

Mondays are for catching up - helping her mom clean out and pack the trailer for the next run.

The rest of the week, she’s playing with her siblings, reading her favourite books (Pony Pals) and doing slow work on her horse - getting miles in the rope pen and the rolling hills.

If her dad needs help, she’s there.

“I like to help my dad with the cows most.”

This year she has one major goal - winning season leader again. We hope she can defend her title at RPG on her way to that goal.

Season leader is never out of reach, especially because Grace has already shown she’s a champion.

But more than that - that girl is a cowboy.
