Honouring Truth & Reconciliation at TSP 🧡
Tomorrow, September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation - a day to remember the children who never came home, honour Survivors and their families, and reflect on the ongoing impact of residential schools and the work that still needs to be done.
We know that there are different ways to honour this day, and we have spent a lot of time thinking about what feels right for our TSP community.
We have chosen to keep our doors open and run our scheduled classes - not because we want the day to feel like any other Wednesday, but because we believe there is something powerful about coming together as a community, moving our bodies, sharing energy, creating space for reflection, and remembering together.
Movement has always been a way for our community to connect. Tomorrow, we want to use that connection to give back.
$5 from every class booking on September 30 will be donated to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society (IRSSS), an Indigenous-led organization providing culturally grounded support, healing and resources to Survivors, families and communities across BC.
We will also have a cash donation box at the studio on Wednesday for anyone who would like to contribute more. Every dollar collected will be added to our donation.
If you choose to join us for class, we invite you to arrive with intention. Take a moment before class to pause, reflect and remember. Wear orange if you feel called to. And when we move together, let’s remember that this is more than just a workout - it is an opportunity to come together with love, respect and a willingness to listen and learn.
We are one small business full of so much love. We do believe that remembering matters. Listening matters. Learning matters. Showing up matters. And community matters.
So Wednesday, we’ll gather, we’ll move, we’ll hold space, and we’ll give back.
With love,
Jessy + the TSP team 🧡
