Congratulations to Reaper, Kim Payzant, for making the cut and joining the Canadian National team athlete pool. She attended a grueling four-day selection camp in October that featured high-performance training and testing. They jumped right in to team building with preparations for a pivotal season on the road to the LA 2028 Paralympic Games. We wish her all the best as she continues to make us proud.

What a weekend! The Reapers took the bronze in the Capital City Showdown and the Northern Lights Teal won the gold in a nail biting match between some of the best women rugby players in Canada. Northern Lights Navy had to settle for silver in a game that could have gone either way. Thanks goes out to the Edmonton Steel Wheels Quad Rugby Club for hosting such a spectacular event and all the volunteers and organizations that made it all possible.

We couldn't keep this young man off the court at the Reapers Try-It event at William Watson Lodge. Despite his recent injury from a motor vehicle accident, his chair skills on the court were impressive. These types of events not only provide opportunities for physically disabled people to try the sport, they allow non-disabled people to experience the thrill as well. Gage and his little brother Reid, who has a physical disability, had a chance to rip up the court as brothers playing a sport as equals. Family participation in the sport, whether on or off the court, is one thing that makes this sport viable and successful.
