Last Weekend at the Penticton Speedway
Two prior champions were tied up for points and ready for one final championship showdown.
Graham Cook Qualified P:4 with his #75 street stock, but partway through the first half of the Venom 100 he had a mechanical failure and could not finish the race, landing him P:8
The crew in the pits worked hard to get the car ready for the second half, and he was up and running fast. Unfortunately, due to complications in the tower, none of the racers could hear the officials and Graham recieved a black flag, brining his championship aspirations to an unlucky end.
Meanwhile, Billy Coles Qualified P:1 with the fastest qualifier lap this year at Penticton Speedway: 14.169.
During the first 50 Lap Main, he had a flat tire. He drove in for a quick change, but the track went green before he could get out again. Nevertheless, he battled from dead last back to P:4.
Then, starting in 7th position in the second Main, Billy caught up to the leader during the last six laps to secure a win.
This leaves the final Street Stock Championship BGR ranking as follows:
In P:9, Kurtis Houben.
In P:7, Ryan Johnson.
In P:6 Wayne Osborne.
In P:3 Norm Swerdfeger.
In P:2 Graham Cook.
In P:1 Billy Coles.
