Three days, two counties, and a whole lot of hometown baseball. From Friday to Sunday the diamonds around Norfolk and Haldimand barely got a rest.

One Tier 1 squad kept winning the tight ones and saved its biggest rally for Sunday. The Caledonia Bears swept a doubleheader, the Simcoe Giants 14U ran off a string of wins, and Six Nations Smoke stayed red hot on the fastball side.

We wrote it all up, day by day. See who came through for your team.

Rep season, gas money, groceries that keep creeping up. You are not behind, you are just busy. We get it.

Here is a move that costs almost nothing and pays your mortgage off years sooner. Round your payment up to the nearest $50. If it is $1,940, make it $2,000. Sixty bucks you will not even feel.

On a typical mortgage that one habit can shave close to two years off and save thousands in interest. No refinance, no big lump sum. You set it once.

Finn Garland hits a deep center field ball, bringing on two runners and scoring himself on a throwing error. The Air Junior Vics narrow the gap to one run.

Thursday night gave us fireworks across the hometown counties. One local fastball squad spun a pitching gem so sharp the game did not even reach the middle innings, while the Simcoe Giants and Haldimand Bulls battled through some tight, gutsy finishes on the diamond. From a five-run comeback bid to an inside-the-park bomb, there was a little of everything. We broke down the whole night for you.

It is the middle of ball season. Tournament weekend, gas both ways, the hotel, the concession stand, new cleats because the old ones gave out in June. You paid for all of it and you would do it again in a heartbeat.

Then the statement lands and the line of credit is a little higher. Again. You did nothing wrong. You just lived a normal summer with kids in sports. We get it. We are at the same diamonds doing the same math on the drive home.

Here is the part most families never hear. The problem is almost never the spending, it is where the debt is sitting. One family moved about $34,000 to the right place and handed themselves $680 a month back. This month, not next year.

The final score was 94 as the Haldimand Bulls took the win! We caught up with Owen after the game to hear about the intensity and his favorite teammates. Dad taught him well!

Canada Day was quiet across the hometown diamonds, but the Simcoe Giants 10U were out at Stalker Park in Simcoe taking on a visiting Cambridge club.

The young Giants ran wild on the bases and turned in errorless ball in the field, competing to the last pitch on the holiday. How did it shake out?

We broke down the whole day.

What a Tuesday night across Norfolk and Haldimand. The Simcoe Giants 14U spotted Hamilton an early lead, fell behind 8-4, and then flipped the whole game with a comeback for the ages in extra innings. Add in a 12-run inning from the Port Dover Clippers, inside-the-park home runs from the Haldimand Bulls, and an error-free gem from the Giants 16U, and you had one of the fuller nights of the summer. What a game! The Haldimand Bulls secured a decisive 9-4 win against the Air Junior Vics. Brody Smeltzer led the charge with clutch hits and a shutout inning, while Emmett Bassendale and Owen Cronk added key scores. A true team effort! highlights
