On Friday we had another working eq clinic! This time we took the obstacles to the outdoor, and got so lucky with the rain holding off 🌧️

All the horses and riders, as always, were fabulous! Great work everyone!

We’ve been busy! Another trip to the lovely Maple Ridge Equi-Sports Centre last Thursday! Always so grateful to have facilities like this to school at. Thanks for having us!

It was a lovely sunny day as we headed off with trailers to the Maple Ridge Equi-Sports Centre XC schooling and Hunter Jumper show on Sunday.

The day started with some cross-country schooling, focusing on the basics — speed, direction, and the balance of the canter needed for the jumps. All the horses were lovely on the field, and for many of them it was their first time out this year. After a break for some hay and water, we moved into the show jumping phase where riders had the opportunity to continue working on their canter and put together some nice clean rounds.

Congratulations to Ingrid and Penny on their first time out on the field riding cross-country together. We also had some new partnerships heading out on the field for the first time — Loghan and Elli, Kendal and Carter, and Sage, who was out for the first time in many years on Atlas.

Great riding from everyone. It is always so lovely to work with keen riders and happy horses.

Big thank you to Ella for putting together these videos that we have been sharing with you all.

Huge thank you to MREC for having us!

Last Friday we held a camp training day for our coaches and volunteers!

Started off with a valuable in hand lesson for the volunteers with Coach Tammie. Everyone gained more knowledge on how to handle more sensitive horses and be clear with their cues. As well as how to interact with the camper they are helping!

Our coaches then did a mock camp lesson, practicing their teaching techniques and having the volunteers act out different scenarios that could happen. It was a ton of fun and super educational.

After everyone getting some feedback on the day, we finished off with a pizza party for our wonderful volunteers as a thank you for all the hard work they put into these camps. Without them, we couldn’t make camps happen!

What an amazing weekend at the Campbell Valley Equestrian Society dressage show! 🦄

Saturday was a full day with the unicorn team — 9 horses, lots of teamwork, support, laughter, and some lovely dressage tests all around. Huge shoutout to Face , our new thoroughbred, for being such a good boy in his first test with coach Emma! After lunch, the fun continued with some jump schooling- thank you so much to Analise Michelle O'brien for letting us come play in your arena- park rides, and even a lesson for Reggie at dog school.

Sunday (and Mother’s Day!) was a relaxed trail ride day with another great group, enjoying the trails, horses, and wonderful company.

A long but special weekend filled with horses, teamwork, and so many happy memories. 💕

First show of 2026 — Maple Ridge Equi-Sports Centre Derby!

We had 12 riders and horses competing this weekend, and it’s always such a great first show of the season with so many opportunities to school and settle in.

Friday was all about preparation, with dressage lessons and time to practice in the ring. Saturday, riders completed their dressage tests and then had the opportunity to school the derby jumper fences, which were a mixture of show jumps and cross-country jumps — a great way to build confidence and give both horses and riders a positive experience.

I was really impressed with how all of our riders coped with the heat, and even more so with how well they took care of their horses — making sure they were drinking, staying cool, and putting their horses’ wellbeing first.

It sounds like there was lots of fun at camp as well for those who stayed over — always a highlight!

A few special mentions:
Congratulations to Kali on her first horse show with Pekoe — such a great milestone.
Congratulations to Ella and Atlas on their first show together, bringing home a first-place ribbon — an amazing start for this new partnership!
Emma also gave Spector a really positive first horse show and couldn’t be happier with him.

Across the board, everyone rode well, stayed organized, and supported each other — exactly what we love to see as a team. Emma, Cass, and I are really looking forward to the season ahead with this group.

And as always, our wonderful school horses truly shone this weekend.

Such a great way to kick off 2026.

Enjoy the videos thank you to Ella for putting them together. Check out the comments for the second one!

Huge thank you to Lee and all the organizers and volunteers that helped make this a fabulous show! Can’t wait for the next one!

A spontaneous trip out to Island 22 in Chilliwack on Wednesday —and it couldn’t have been better. The weather was absolutely perfect, the horses were amazing, and even the dogs behaved (which is saying something! 😂).

And a big highlight… Emma drove the big rig!

Days like this are what it’s all about. 💛
Thank you Island 22 Equestrian Park for having us!
