3 DAYS TO GO! 🌺

We checked in with Alba athlete Luke Evans to see how he’s feeling heading into the race and get the scoop on the vibes on The Big Island.

Here is what Luke had to say:

1. What’s your favourite thing about the Big Island?

The warm weather for sure. It’s 24°C in the morning and 29°C in the afternoon. The sun is always shinning until the short rainfall at about 3pm. The relaxed vibe is also refreshing. Island time is a real thing and it’s wonderful to not be scheduled every minute of every day.

2. What’s your dream race day outcome?

I’m here to win, that is the dream. But a podium in my age group would be a success and I want to get a umeke.

3. How many açaí bowls will you eat this week?

I’ve eaten zero so far. I’ll probably eat a few after the race but I’m sticking to homemade food until then. Nothing new on (or before) race day.

4. Would you rather do a Breakfast with Bob interview or be on the Pro Tri News podcast?

Pro Tri News for sure. I listen to every minute of most episodes during my commute so it would be cool to be on their show. I’m planning on attending one of their in-person tapings this week.

5. Where are you more likely to be hanging out: Lava Java or Huggo’s on the Rocks?

Lava Java. I do like a coffee after my morning swim.
