Another week, another first!! We kicked off North America's first and only women's walking soccer league this past weekend. Four teams took to the turf at Cherry Beach to play the first week of their three round robin games. As always, the games were played in good humour with plenty of high quality walking soccer on show. The day ended with Toronto Rosé All Day topping the table.

Under brilliant sunshine at Cherry Beach in downtown Toronto, history was made this weekend as North America's first-ever walking soccer league officially kicked off!

The Toronto Walking Soccer League (TWSL) features both men's and women's divisions, bringing together players of all ages for a season that will run through October.

The opening day delivered plenty of excitement, skill, and competitive spirit, with all four teams battling it out in a series of thrilling matches. Our newly qualified referees did an outstanding job helping players adapt to this fast-growing version of the beautiful game and ensuring every match was played in great spirit.

You can follow all the action throughout the season, including results, league tables, and top scorers, on Tournify.

Congratulations to all the players, teams, referees, and volunteers who made this historic opening day such a success. And the excitement is only just beginning—the Women's League kicks off next weekend!

Good luck to everyone involved, and we'll see you on the pitch!

I headed over to Nathan Phillips Square check out the World Cup in person and see how the World Cup preparation is shaping up. Once the supporters arrive in Toronto this place is going to be rocking! Can't wait!

Also bumped into Canada soccer legend Dwayne DeRosario, so got yet another photo with him.

Looking forward to the start of the world cup in three weeks! 🇨🇦😃

The opening Saturday of our summer season welcomed Loons new and old, and players trying walking soccer for the first time. Great fun as always and wonderful to meet all of our new teammates!

Thank you to Josh Matlow for his help in securing fields at Cherry Beach Sports Fields. This will be transformational to help keep older adults fit, healthy and having fun whilst playing the beautiful game in the city of Toronto.

Kerrin and Jasmine recently attended the Beyond the Pitch event to discuss the legacy that the FIFA World Cup event will leave in Toronto. Great to meet Dwayne DeRosario and Mayor Chow and discuss how access to soccer facilities can be improved in our city.

A fantastic tournament at Ontario Soccer Association organised by Oakville Soccer Club. Toronto Reds came first closely followed by Toronto Blacks in Third. Congratulations to all the Loons players involved!

It was a chilly morning when 20 new referees arrived at Pantry Park to complete the in-person part of our referee training based on England FA Walking Football Referee Development. In the space of two hours we had all weather - cold, cloud, sun, snow, wind. It was a testing morning!

Our TWSC men and women excelled, as expected, getting to grips quickly with making decisions in game situations. There's lots of learning ahead and game experience is essential to embed our new skills. The club is putting in codes of conduct to protect our new referees and give them the space they need to flourish. Exciting times ahead!

A massive thank you to England FA Walking Football Referee Development Coach - Mick Hill, for his guidance with the coaching process.

Our opening day of the season and second Demo Day of the year was a roaring success! The day started off a tad chilly but the sun came out right on cue to warm us up. Some great soccer played and many laughs shared. We hope to see some new walking soccer players join the club. Thank you to all the volunteers that took part and great to see the new Loons get stuck into their first game!! Thank you to our Sports Marketing intern, Matthieu, for the superb photography!
