Day One of Church Street pedestriantization project is pretty awesome but WOW is the security and police presence overkill.
We give cyclists a voice at City Hall. Join our diverse member-based organization today and be part of the push for a cycling city for all!
Cycle Toronto is a member-driven community of cyclists from every geographic area in Toronto that represents a cross-section of Toronto’s cyclists. We provide a vibrant and amplified voice to achieve the common goals of safety, legitimacy and accessibility of cycling in Toronto. We coordinate city-wide advocacy on behalf of our members and provide resources for cyclists to be effective local advocates themselves. We promote cycling in an inclusive, friendly and inviting manner.

FREE bike parking with Cycle Toronto bike valet is available every match day at Inukshuk, Ordnance, and Hanna, and every Fan Festival day at Inukshuk.
(That also happens to coincide with the June 19 arkellsmusic show down at RBC amphitheatre.)
Beat the traffic and ride your bike.

The proposed provincial regulations around e-bikes are [shockingly] pretty good! Better distinguishing between e-bikes and other e-moped/motorcycle style vehicles is long overdue.
What we still want to see: lowering the 120 kg max weight for Class 2, and mandatory battery safety standards.

Did you know that in-line skates and roller blades are not legal in Toronto bike lanes and cycling infrastructure like this stretch by Little Norway Park? Regardless of whether you're making full stops at intersections or not?
Of course we'd expect Toronto Police Services to know all the rules of the road and enforce them accordingly. (Although we're pleased these folks apparently were not tackled and concussed for their infractions.)

Toronto Police Services know that drivers are overwhelmingly responsible for people being killed or seriously injured on our roads and the "Big 4” driver behaviours known to cause injuries to all road users: speeding, aggressive driving, distracted driving, and impaired driving.
It's right there in this June 1st media release about.... yet another enforcement crackdown on people on bikes.
Taxpayers are footing the bill to the tune of $1.43B for this road safety theatre.
Panic on Portland!
Recent changes on Portland Street have social media aflutter about traffic chaos, but a bird's eye view paints a different picture.
