The Big Toronto Bike Ride is here!

Join us Saturday, September 19 for a slow roll through Toronto's ravines and paths along the Toronto Loop trail. This year's ride offers 3 distances (40 km, 20 km, 12 km), all ending together for dinner and celebration at Evergreen Brick Works. This is more than a ride. It’s an essential fundraising event to power our work to keep fighting for a more livable city and foster a culture of cycling. (You don't need to select your distance upon registration. We'll follow up closer to the event. Details subject to change.)

Nominations are open for the Alex Amaro Cycling Kindness Award. The award is designed to recognize an individual or not-for-profit group/organization who exemplifies a positive approach to making cycling friendlier, more accessible, inclusive, environmentally healthier and sustainable for everyone. This year’s recipient will be announced at the ride.

We spoke with CBC, Toronto Today, and the Toronto Star about the tired proposal to rip out the bike lanes on Bloor. This isn't evidence based transportation planning, it's a culture war baiting distraction that will put lives at risk while failing to address traffic congestion.

On July 30, 2025, the Ontario Superior Court ruled in Cycle Toronto v. Ontario that the province's attempt to remove 19 km of protected bike lanes was reckless and arbitrary and violated Canadians' Charter rights under Section 7.

The province appealed, and that decision is still pending.

Join us Thursday 6pm at Ramsden Park tp celebrate this victory and stand up against this ongoing pattern of provincial interference and undermining of local democracy.

Regardless of what comes next, we don't expect a decision to be the end of the road. The threat of the notwithstanding clause continues to loom. And even if we do prevail on Bill 212 and stop the removal of bike lanes, a decision affirming the court's ruling does nothing to reverse Bill 60's provincial restrictions on new bike lanes.
