How do you practice?

Are you making it random enough?

Are there reasons you’re better on the range than the course?

If you struggle taking your game from the rock pile to the 1st tee, perhaps there’s something fairly simple you can do.

moving and shaking. Doing a great job working towards cleaning up a golf swing that contributed to putting him on the bench for 8 + years. He’s back, improving his structure and applying the club to the ball well with a massive understanding of the motion he used to have and the one he needs (literally).

Loading torques and forces create an opportunity to let these qualities work positively for the player… but only when understood and sequenced properly.

Have you loaded and retained yours properly in order to unload and apply these in a powerful fashion?

Gotta hand it to here! Met him last year and he was all in on improving his game! His love and passion for it was evident and when I get the luxury to work with an individual that feels this way, I know I’m not going to have to motivate him to practice and put the time in!

And because he does, he deserves every low score and personal best that comes his way… and they are coming!

Working incrementally and expecting small improvements over time help with sustained change.

After all we are trying to create a “new normal”. A normal that creates high quality golf shots and serviceable misses.

If you’re a player that goes uber hard in spurts are often going to create unrealistic expectations because at the end of your intense practice session you’ll have a fall sense of security. Just because you dug it out of the dirt on the 3rd bucket of the day, doesn’t mean it’ll be there when you ask for it tomorrow. Anyone with a decent amount of athleticism and hand eye coordination will be able to manipulate a decent shot after practicing for a couple hours. When you do this, your shots are directly correlated to the previous shot, therefore making tiny adjustments either consciously or subconsciously.
Thinking you’re going to bring these “feels” to the first tee tomorrow morning is a fallacy and when you don’t, you’re extremely disappointed and easily frustrated.

Golf is a game of a lifetime, try to practice that way. It will absolutely assist with the patience you need for yourself and will most definitely help you enjoy the amazing journey this great game can be!
