Wado Canada Hombu Wado Canada Hombu teaches Shintani Wado Karate & Shindo Ryuha for youth and adults in Victoria. The Wado Canada Hombu, started in 1982 as C.A.S.K.

Karate, teaches one of the four main styles of Karate in the world, called Wado. Wado was founded by Master Hironori Otsuka in 1934 in Japan. Classes are taught in a traditional manner with emphasis placed on the Art, rather than Sport. At its headquarters at James Bay Community School Centre (140 Oswego Street), Wado Canada offers Youth (6-12), and Adult Programs for beginners, intermediate and advanced ranks. Super Sunday today!!

After warm ups and a technical stretching module we worked with Shindo skills, Kihon, Kumite drills and kata from Pinan Godan to Basai.

We had some great classes this week - Tuesday our room was unavailable, so we pivoted and Sensei Jennifer ran a zoom class where our focus was on a strong stretching module, full Geri curriculum, kihon and a couple of Kata.

Sunday was an all black-belt class so we doubled down on technical stretching, full Kihon modules and practicing accessory kata curriculum.

September is here and we are happy to welcome new students at any time.

James Bay Community School hosts Jr/Youth classes Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please register through the JBCC.

Adult classes are held at James Bay Community School on Tuesdays from 7:15-9pm, Thursdays from 6:45-7:45 pm, and Sunday mornings from 9-11 am.

CASK Karate and Wado Canada Hombu are proud to be be fully volunteer teacher run, making our monthly fees one of the lowest in the City of Victoria - just $65/month for adults.
