A huge congratulations to our very own Jesse Kilgour from Golf Services team on an incredible achievement with Rugby Canada! 🇨🇦🏉

Jesse scored his first-ever international try for Team Canada as Canada defeated the USA and secured the bronze medal at the Pacific Nations Cup.

Meet Chef Sam Benedetto! 👨‍🍳🥣

Executive Chef at Royal Colwood Golf Club since 2016, Chef Sam brings an impressive culinary background to the kitchen. Before joining Royal Colwood, he served as Chef de Cuisine at the renowned Sooke Harbour House, was Chef/Owner of The Guild, and Executive Chef at The Temple Restaurant.

We’re especially grateful that Chef Sam has generously shared his time and culinary talents with Soroptimist International of Victoria Westshore over the years, lending his expertise to our fundraising events — including Soup’s On!

And here’s where the Soup’s On! challenge gets interesting: our chefs receive a box of rescued ingredients without knowing in advance what will be inside. Using their creativity and culinary expertise, they transform these ingredients into delicious, restaurant-quality soups for our guests to enjoy.

The ingredients are rescued from local growers and grocers through our partnership with The Mustard Seed’s Food Share Network — turning good food that might otherwise go to waste into something truly special.

We’re delighted to welcome Chef Sam back to the Soup’s On! kitchen on October 3. We can’t wait to discover what’s in his box — and what he creates with it! 🥣💙

We want to celebrate our amazing course maintenance crew!

After a busy week for them, completing fall aeration and topdressing, bunker maintenance and drainage improvements, we wanted to express our gratitude. Through the year, from early mornings to late nights, our greenkeepers are dedicated to ensuring our golf course is the best it can be.

We appreciate their efforts to deliver great conditions so that you can enjoy your time out on the course.

VOLUNTEER: To freely offer oneself for a service, or to step up and do a task without being asked or forced.

On Wednesday, September 2, Royal Colwood had the opportunity to recognize a special group of Members who helped found, build, and continue our invasive species removal efforts across the property.

A commemorative plaque was unveiled in recognition of the many volunteer Members who have contributed their time and energy to this work over the years. From those who helped establish the program, to those who strengthened and supported it, and the Members who continue removing invasive species today. Their combined efforts have made a noticeable difference to Royal Colwood's natural landscape. The plaque has been placed on the rock behind the 9th green, along the path toward the driving range, as a visible and lasting tribute to their contribution.

These amazing Royal Colwood volunteers have contributed more than 3,500 hours removing invasive species from our beautiful property over the past six years!
