Heavy Club and other functional training tips and insights. It’s more than a one-off.

Currently offering a 3-hour heavy club workshop built around rotation, grip strength, and control—perfect complement to kettlebell training and athletic movement work. The structure translates well into a class format—great for people looking to build strength that actually transfers to real movement.

Most people think getting stronger means making every set harder.
I don't.
That's why I use reverse ladders with heavy clubs.
Most people count up.
1, 2, 3.
I count down.
3, 2, 1.
Here's why.
Fatigue never works in your favour.
Every rep chips away at your grip.
Your posture starts to drift.
Your timing gets a little slower.
Your technique starts to fall apart.
So why would you save the most work for the moment you're least capable of doing it well?
That never made sense to me.
Think about everyday life.
If you're carrying groceries upstairs, do you grab the heaviest bags on the last trip when you're already tired?
If you're shovelling snow, do you leave the heavy, packed snow until the very end?
If you're helping a friend move, do you save the couch for after you've carried twenty boxes?
Of course not.
You tackle the hardest job while you're fresh.
Training should work the same way.
With heavy clubs, I want my best reps to happen when I have the most focus, the strongest grip, and the cleanest movement.
Everything after that gets easier.
Not because I'm taking the easy way out.
Because I'm keeping the quality high from start to finish.
Try this:
3 Shield Casts
2 Shield Casts
1 Shield Cast
Rest 60 to 90 seconds.
Repeat for 3 to 5 rounds.
You'll finish the workout feeling like you could have done one more round.
That's exactly where you want to be.
Too many people think success is crawling across the finish line.
I think success is walking away knowing every rep looked exactly the way it was supposed to.

15 minutes. One club. One park bench worth of space.

That's 1% of your day. That 1% is what lets you carry groceries, throw your kid on your shoulders, and get up off the floor at 52 without making a sound.

You don't need motivation. You need momentum.

Swing heavy. Swing often.

What's your 1% today? Drop it in the comments.
