ELLIOTT’S CUSTOM TRAILERS RETURNS AS OPEN WHEEL SHOWDOWN PARTNER IN 2026

LAS VEGAS, NV (March 5, 2026) –Davey Hamilton Jr.’s Open Wheel Showdown officials today announced that Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts has entered into an agreement to be a marketing partner and the official sponsor of the Open Wheel Showdown Non-Wing sprint car class.

Promoter Hamilton Jr. announced on February 19 that he was adding a $10,000-to-win non-wing sprint car event with a total purse of over $45,000. The non-wing sprint cars will utilize 500 Sprint Car Tour rules and tech procedures for this event.

The Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts Non-Wing Sprint Cars will join Super Modifieds, Modifieds, Legends, Bandoleros, highlighted by a $50,000-to-win winged sprint car event at the “Bullring” at Las Vegas Motor Speedway November 5-7, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts is a Warsaw, Indiana based premier dealer specializing in motorsports trailers, car haulers, and E-Z-GO golf carts. With over 20 years’ experience, they offer custom trailer builds, new and used inventory, and a full-service center. They are a major dealer for brands like Haulmark, Featherlite, and ATC, serving racers and recreational users nationwide. They have been a marketing partner with Open Wheel Showdown since 2025.

“Having the whole Elliott’s team and family involved with our event again is awesome” explained Hamilton Jr.” Cindy and Jim came out last year to the event and had a blast. Truly I’m just thankful to have them back. They do so much for the sport, and it means a lot.”

The non-wing sprint car class filled all 35 available entry spots available within three hours, the first day the entry process opened. Due to the overwhelming popularity, an additional 15 spots were made available. Those too were quickly filled and now all 50 spots have been taken. All new entries are being added to a waiting list.

The Open Wheel Showdown continues to grow each year. The fourth annual event will once again feature over $250,000 in prize money highlighted by a $50,000-to-win 100-lap winged sprint car feature event. Super Modifieds will battle it out for a $10,000 winner’s share in the Larry Trigueiro Memorial, Open Wheel Modifieds, Legends, Bandoleros, and now non-wing sprint cars will also be a part of this year’s event.

Speed Sport will once again return as the official media partner of the event with live coverage all weekend long. For more updates on the event and the latest news please visit www.openwheelshowdown.com.

Well had a eventful weekend at the Neil Montgomery memorial weekend. Unfortunately rain canceled Thursday night practice and the race schedule Friday night. Saturday it stayed dry and we were able to get full race schedule in!. In a last minute twist I was asked to drive the famed 25 otra car as George wasn’t able to from a hurt back helping another racer

It was a hectic night with the dual otra 25lap mains, i had to start last as never having run in the class before, but was able to run as high as 2nd and finish 3rd in both mains! Then run my 25lap non wing sprint main finishing 5th, but I’d would do it again for sure!

Been a busy couple weeks of racing!

July 11/12 Double header sprint weekend. Thrashed to finally replace all the bent front end parts. New front axle, new spindles, changed out rotors. Mounted up the new tires. Friday started out good, qualified with fast time for the first time, finished 3rd in the main in a drage race just beating Wayde to the line

Saturday, made a couple adjustments, not as good in qualifying as the car got tight. Ended up winning the trophy dash and the heat race! The. Lead over half the main event till a caution closed up the feild ended up finishing 2nd

With a quick turn around got out the ministock and hauled back up this following weekend July 19. Missed first practice as I had to change out the starter with one I picked up on the way to the track. Ran 2nd practice . Installed a new sway bar link before qualifying ended up with a un noticed flat rf tire from 2nd practice session, so safe to say qualifying wasn’t good at all! Was leading heat race when rf went flat again! Main event i Started near the back of feild, worked my way to the lead and lead till the white flag lap. Finished 2nd. Making changes after every race and car is getting faster each time.

Had a pretty good double header weekend!

Thrashed wed and thirsday night to replace the worn out and bent front end in the car

Friday qualified fast time, started main last and ended up with a drag race off the last corner to take 3rd.

Saturday qualified 3rd after a less then stellar qualifying effort. Made changes, won trophy dash, won a great side by side battle entire heat race and rookie the win. Went on to lead over half the main event till a caution set up a 2 wide restart and lost the lead and finished 2nd

This week get back to finishing a few things on the ministock and back up to Saratoga for Saturday night

A bit late but finally got the new ministock out for its first race. Started out a bit rough with a blown head gasket on its very first few laps and a leaking engine breather

Luckily my dad was coming up for the races sat morning and I was able to find one head gasket in Duncan for him to stop in a pickup on the way

Changed out the head gasket, made 2nd practice session and all seemed to be fixed. Missed qualifying as I forgot to fuel up the car..

Started last in the main and ended up 4th a photo finish for 3rd .

Sunday went a bit smoother. Starter went out after qualifying, so had to push start the car rest of the night won heat race and finished 2nd in the main. Solid showing for a unfinished car

Finally got the ministock started. Still needs fuel pump installed and line finished. But filled the carb up enough to start it
