Manitoba rowing association

The Manitoba Rowing Association (MRA) was incorporated in 1981 and is the governing body for the sport in the province. There are four clubs.

Two in Winnipeg, one in Pinawa, and the Kenora Rowing Club.

MRA Summer Recap: Gimli Coastal Camp.

To Kick off the Summer, MRA was able to run it's first Coastal Camp in the beautiful town of Gimli, Manitoba.

The day consisted of learning about Coastal Rowing and Beach Sprints, complete with coaching and experience on all the components that go into Coastal events and Beach Sprint races.

The day was complete was lots of time on the beach, in the water, team building and fun relay races to experience what a Beach Sprint race would be like.

The Manitoba Rowing Association is very thankful for the support of Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries through their support of Coastal Rowing and growing the sport of Rowing in our province.

Thanks to this support, we were able to run a fun Coastal Camp led by experienced Coastal Rowers, Coaches and many amazing volunteers.

What an amazing season it has been so far for this talented group of MRA Performance Pathway athletes!

The Team has come together this year and with over a dozen first place finishes in the last few regattas alone it shows their hard work is paying off.

Keep up the great work Team, we are so proud of all of you and good luck to all the MRA athletes heading to Henley this year.

Oh Canada!

Congrats to Lexi on being named to the U23 Canadian national team!

Lexi will be competing in the Women's 8+ at the U23 World Championships from July 23-26, in Duisburg, Germany.

We are so proud of you Lexi and are excited to follow you and Team Canada this Summer!

MRA had a great time at this year's Summer Game Day at Assiboine Park last weekend.

A fun day soaking up the sun and meeting lots of future Rowers.

"Rowing from the Heart". The heart of the country, the heart of the province, the heart of Winnipeg, and the heart of our body 💙!

Great session today with six doubles and two singles on the Red. 17.5 kms for the crew with boat washing and snacks after. We are excited about the progress made and what's still to come this season!!

The future of Rowing is in good hands.

Last weekend, The Manitoba Rowing Association was thrilled to have RCA Coach Educator / Facilitator, Garett Mathiason in Winnipeg. Garett led our RCA Coach Weekend 1 Workshop on May 9th and 10th at The Winnipeg Rowing Club.

This enthusiastic and hard working group of coaches is working hard as they become trained and certified as RCA Coaches.

MRA is committed to help strengthen coaching development across the MRA region.

A huge thank you to The Winnipeg Rowing Club and Coaching Manitoba for supporting this coaching workshop and our Coaches.
