🚣‍♂️ VOLUNTEERS WANTED: Red River Paddle Challenge & Les Voyageurs Challenge! 🚣‍♀️

The 2026 Red River Paddle Challenge (September 19–20) is right around the corner, and we need an awesome crew to help make this year’s race a success!

Whether you want to cheer on paddlers at dawn or keep things running smoothly at the finish line, there’s a spot for you:

✨ Volunteer Roles Available:

Pre-Race Setup & Registration: Help check in racers, unload boats/gear, and set the high-energy tone for the start!

Checkpoint Crews: Cheer on paddlers, track times, and keep everyone fueled with snacks and water along the river.

On-Water Safety & Spotters: Have a powered watercraft? Patrol designated sections of the course to keep paddlers safe.

Finish Line Crew: Record finish times, assist exhausted paddlers out of the water, and celebrate their amazing accomplishment!

🙌 Training and support are provided for all roles—no previous race experience needed!

Attention paddlers! We’ve officially updated our boat categories to include a new Unlimited Division!

Do you have a unique craft that doesn't quite fit the mold of a standard boat type? This is the category for you.

🔧 What qualifies for the Unlimited Division?
If your human-powered craft doesn't match standard specifications, you can now register under Unlimited. This includes ruddered canoes, modified kayaks, boats equipped with outriggers, and any other unique, custom, or non-standard human-powered setups!

🙌 Registration is OPEN for the September 19–20, 2026 race. Dust off your custom builds, fine-tune your setups, and let's see what you’ve got on the Red River!

A century ago, paddlers taking part in the historic Les Voyageurs Canoe Race received a pin just like this to honor their epic journey. To celebrate that incredible milestone (1926–2026), we are bringing a piece of history back to the water.

Every single participant who takes on the Red River Paddle Challenge or the Les Voyageurs Challenge this year will take home one of these exclusive replica pins!

We will still have our traditional, special finisher medals waiting for you at the finish line as we always do. The commemorative pin is a special history-making bonus just for being a part of this milestone year.

From Manitoba to the Yukon: Team Prairie Paddlers are taking on the ultimate challenge!

Huge shoutout to Sean Stoesz and Darwin Wiebe from Team Prairie Paddlers as they take on the legendary Yukon 1000, the world’s longest and toughest paddle race!

To give you an idea of how elite this race is: thousands of teams apply from all over the world, but only 30 are selected to compete. Sean and Darwin made the cut, and they are officially on the water!

These two Manitoba locals are no strangers to grueling endurance tests on the water; as seasoned veterans of the Red River Paddle Challenge and many other endurance races, they’ve spent years honing their grit, synchronization, and stamina. Now, they are trading the familiar waters of home for 1,000 miles of isolated wilderness, epic landscapes, and the ultimate test of human endurance.

Let's show some hometown love and support as they push their limits through the midnight sun!
