We don’t buy offsets. We plant trees. 🌳

This year’s planting is in the ground: our 2025 and 2026 projects in Southeast Uganda, with Trees for the Future, planted around 17,500 trees — working with over 500 farmers, timed to September’s rains.

A refrigerated ice rink is a giant freezer with the lid off. ❄️

One indoor arena uses as much electricity as 56–185 American homes — and US commercial power is up 34% since 2020, heading higher through 2027.

A Glice rink needs none of it: 0 kWh, 0 water, 0 noise.

How long does a Glice surface last? 📆

Premium panels are rated for 10+ years per side — and many are reversible, so you flip them for a second life. There's a tier for every use: Home (10mm), Pro 13mm , and Pro 20mm.

"I was surprised with how quickly I could adapt."

Kaitlyn Weaver — two-time Olympian and three-time World medalist in ice dance 🇨🇦 — on skating Glice at the 60th ISU Ordinary Congress in Tenerife:

"There are definite differences, which I understand was the message — that it's not to replace, but to provide another surface for people who don't have access. A bunch of us were having a blast out here. Really fun."

That's exactly the point. Not a replacement for real ice — a way to reach the skaters who've never had it.

Is synthetic ice as slippery as real ice?

We didn't want to be the ones answering that. So we asked Fraunhofer IWM in Freiburg to measure it.

The result: at lower speeds, Glice matches the friction coefficient of freshly resurfaced refrigerated ice. That's the range where most recreational skating and training happens.

It's not "identical in every condition." It's matched where it matters.

For rink operators dealing with energy costs and shorter winters, that's the question that counts: does it skate like ice? Now there's independent data to answer it.

Fraunhofer's official press release is linked in the comments.
