Running a rink shouldn't need specialists. 🧽

How long does it take to build a skating rink? ⏱️
Once panels are on site, most Glice rinks install in hours — assembled by your own team, no contractors or machinery. Installation is the fast part; the full journey (consultation → planning → production → install → training) is guided end to end, so it opens ready to run.

What's under a Glice rink? Less than you'd think. 🏗️
It lays directly on any flat surface — concrete, asphalt, sport or event flooring — with no refrigeration bed, no piping, no drilling, and typically no permits. Outdoor rinks get a slight incline so rain drains off. The surface handles weather instead of fighting it.
When the NHL brought its game to Düsseldorf for SportsInnovation, the ice under it wasn't ice at all.
Glice provided the synthetic skating surface at the event — the same breakthrough surface that lets elite hockey happen without a drop of water or a refrigeration plant, anywhere in the world.

Ever wondered how panels become one smooth rink? 🔧
Glice uses a precision tongue-and-groove connection — like quality parquet flooring — reinforced with plugs, so seams sit flush and undetectable. Cheaper puzzle-style joints leave ridges you can feel and catch a blade on. The connection is what makes skating feel seamless.
Can you actually learn to skate on synthetic ice? A coach's answer: yes.
Iker Oyarzabal — figure skater and coach 🇪🇸 — taught school kids on Glice and put it plainly:
"Learning to skate on Glice and on regular ice is really similar. The exercises and everything we did are very similar — and the kids had a really good experience."
His verdict on where it fits: "It's a very good choice where you can't have a regular ice rink."
That's the whole idea — real skating, real teaching, in places traditional ice can't reach.
