Meet Coach Luc 🦁

From Saint-Étienne, France 6 years at ZRA, and a twin brother so somewhere, there's a second Luc. 🦁🦁

His proudest moment: seeing 7 of our U14 and U15 players selected for Swiss National Teams. His value: courage. And when he pictures the spirit of ZRA? A chain of people, connected together. ⛓️

The most rewarding part of coaching U10 for Luc: favouring learning over winning, every single time.

His funniest moment this season: playing in the mud against Milano. And the moment that sums up coaching perfectly when the kids executed exactly the wrong move he'd just shown them. 😄

He fell in love with rugby the day South Africa won the World Cup in 1996 a moment he still carries with him.

His superpower? The ability to bring people together behind a common goal, and to let people be themselves.

His proudest moment: watching the huge growth and strength of our community from Schnuppertag turning into 300 kids at our home tournament, growth he's seen with his own eyes.

The value closest to his heart: respect. For yourself, for friends and colleagues, and even for people with a different outlook. When he pictures the spirit of Zurich Rugby Academy, he sees a honeycomb bees all working toward a common goal. 🐝

One thing you didn't know: he sailed a 12-metre boat from South Africa to Paris almost 8 months at sea. ⛵

His message to parents: be passionate and respectful, and remember they're children. Having fun and learning matters most. Keep cheering and supporting.

All the way from Johannesburg, South Africa one year at Zurich Rugby Academy, and already a firm believer that his U10s can fly.

His coaching superpower? Believing exactly that. Ask him what the most rewarding part of coaching this age group is, and he'll tell you: helping children discover their own confidence.

His proudest moments aren't the wins they're watching kids discover that they can do this thing called rugby in the first place.

Funniest moment this season: trying to coach rugby in a foot of snow, when snowball fights suddenly seemed a lot more appealing than the drill. ❄️😄

🏉 30 Kinder erleben Rugby! ☀️

Dank der tollen Zusammenarbeit mit dem Sportamt Kanton Zürich und Rahel von Swiss Rugby Union konnten 30 Kinder im Rahmen unseres Sommercamps Rugby hautnah erleben.

Mit viel Freude probierten sie unseren Sport aus, lernten neue Fähigkeiten, wuchsen als Team zusammen und entdeckten, was Rugby auf und neben dem Platz ausmacht.

Ein grosses Dankeschön an unsere Grasshopper Club Zurich Rugby Women Big Sisters und unser U16-Team, die als Coach-Assistents mit viel Herzblut unterstützt und den Kindern ein unvergessliches Erlebnis ermöglicht haben.

Meet the Manager and Coach Christian 🦁

From Brindisi, Italy and honestly, he admits he's usually more excited about training day than the kids are. 😄

Christian coaches our youngest lions kids barely bigger than the rugby ball itself, forming their first friendships on a pitch. His favourite part of the season? Watching 5- and 6-year-olds play tournament matches with some very creative interpretations of the rules. 😄

The value closest to his heart: respect and inclusion because every player deserves to feel welcome and belong.

He fell in love with rugby watching Italy's first Six Nations match live the day he realised rugby isn't just a sport, it's a community. 💙
