Different ingredients create different conditions for microbes to work. Different processes bring different acidity, texture, aroma, heat and complexity.

That is part of what makes fermentation so fascinating: there is no single fermented flavour and no single way to ferment.

Swipe through six familiar ferments and see what makes each one different.

Let Fire Alchemy introduce some to your table?

We are proud to share this Madame Figaro Cyprus feature on our co-founder, Greta Skemaite, who has been nominated for the Madame Figaro Women of the Year 2026 Awards in the Bank of Cyprus Innovation category. 🔥✨

Greta’s journey is closely connected to the story behind Fire Alchemy.

What began with a shared passion for fermentation grew into hands-on experience, experimentation and the ambition to build something with wider impact. 🫙🌱

That experience later helped shape the foundations of V. G. Freyia Labs Ltd and its work towards more structured, governed and evidence-informed fermentation-led production. 💡🧪

The article shares more about Greta’s move from a legal and corporate career into entrepreneurship, the people who have supported her and what this nomination means to her.

We are proud to see her recognised alongside so many remarkable women. 👏💫
