Some people see blood on white pants.

I see a baller.
A true athlete.
A player who just played one heck of a game.

Women’s sports comes with an invisible layer that rarely gets talked about.

We train through cramps.
We compete through hormonal shifts.
We manage pain, energy levels, recovery… and sometimes, yes, we step onto the biggest stage of the season wearing white pants, knowing our bodies don’t care that it’s championship day.

That takes mental capacity.
Energy.Focus.
And somehow, we still show up.

Shorts was named Game MVP in the championship game.
Not because she ignored what her body was doing, but because she refused to let it define her performance.

This isn’t about celebrating bleeding through your uniform.
It’s about celebrating every female athlete who quietly carries an extra mental load while still competing at the highest level.

Because strength isn’t pretending your body doesn’t exist.
Strength is showing up anyway.

The Sommer sisters are incredible.

Kamille Sommer #37, LB and RB, was appointed MVP of the year. She is a great teammate, a natural athlete and a true baller through and through.

At the same time Maja ‘Shorts’ Sommer #45, SS, TE and P, recived the MVP award for the game. Shorts is a multi talent, she is hard working, and she makes everyone around her feel safe and seen.

Some of our players’ family showed up in Carlstad to cheer for us as we played the final.
The game did not go as we had hoped for, but feeling the love and support from families like this was uplifting.

Saturday wasn’t the ending we had hoped for.

We didn’t really find our rhythm. We simply didn’t play the football we know we’re capable of on either side of the ball.

Of course, we’re disappointed.
Our goal was to compete at our highest level and leave everything on the field.
On Saturday, we fell short of that.

But one game doesn’t define this team.

This season may have been short, but it was significant. We made history by ending a winning streak that had lasted since August 2021. More importantly, we grew closer as a team, developed as football players, and proved that our culture is stronger than ever.

Our team is full of people who lift each other up, fight for one another, and keep showing up when needed.

We’ll learn from yesterday, and we’ll remember this season with pride. 🥈
