In Loving Memory of Hans Wohl ✨️

Sometimes, someone starts something without ever realising how many lives they will touch.

Hans was one of those people.

Fifteen years ago, together with his wife Clarie, Hans took the very first step towards what would become Marbella 4Days Walking. With his enthusiasm, vision and love of walking, he brought people together, friendships were formed, and an event was born that has since become a second home for thousands of participants and volunteers. From the very beginning, Clarie stood by his side and played an indispensable role in making that dream a reality.

To many, Hans and Clarie were the founders of Marbella 4Days Walking.

To me, Hans was, and always will be, so much more.

Years ago, I had the privilege of taking over Marbella 4Days Walking from Hans and Clarie. What began as a business transition grew into a very special friendship. The trust Hans placed in me afterwards has always been one of the greatest gifts I have ever received.

Over the years, not only did our professional relationship grow, but so did a very special bond. We lived just around the corner from one another and shared countless conversations, ideas, concerns, successes, and above all, many wonderful moments together.

Hans never stopped caring. He continued to follow the event closely, offering his thoughts, encouragement and support, and took great pride in seeing "his" event continue to grow.

The fact that he will not be with us to celebrate our 15th anniversary this year is deeply painful.

But one thing I know for certain...

Hans will always remain part of Marbella 4Days Walking.

- In every volunteer who gives their time.
- In every participant who crosses the finish line.
- In every smile along the route.
.. And in every step we continue to take together.

On behalf of our entire amazing team, I would like to wish Clarie, his family, loved ones and friends strength, love and comfort during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you for everything you meant to us.

To me, you were not only the founder of Marbella 4Days Walking, but for many years also my mentor, my greatest supporter and a true friend. I will never forget that.
