A woman I recently worked with wanted some coaching sessions because she felt like she was at a crossroads.

It wasn’t quite “I’m going to quit my job tomorrow”. But it was getting close.

From the outside, things looked pretty good.

A successful career.
A busy life.
Plenty to be grateful for.

But there was a quiet feeling that wouldn’t budge.

A feeling that she wanted something more. More freedom. More creativity. More time. More choice.

She thought she needed a complete plan before she could move forward.

What she actually needed was one small step.

One conversation.
One coffee with someone doing work she was curious about.
One afternoon spent exploring an idea she’d been putting off.
One honest answer to the question: What do I want now?

The thing about change is that it rarely arrives all at once.

Most of the time it begins quietly.

With a thought.
A decision.
A different conversation.

And then one day you look back and realise you’ve come much further than you thought.

Missing retreat life.

The laughs,
the conversations over dinner,
moving first thing in the morning with nothing else to do first,
no food shopping to do, 🙄
and no cooking or washing up!, 🙌
the beautiful places we’ve stayed,
the company,
the sunshine,
that feeling of being around people so you’re not travelling alone, but you still get your alone time,
no-one to look after but yourself.

But mainly the pure joy of it all ✨

If you’ve spent years taking care of everyone else, who takes care of you?

You’re the one everyone comes to.

The one who remembers birthdays, checks in on people, keeps things running, listens when someone needs to talk, and somehow holds it all together.

But when was the last time someone asked how you were doing?

So many women get used to putting themselves last that it starts to feel normal. You keep going because that’s what you’ve always done. Until one day you realise you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, or not quite sure who you are anymore.

You don’t have to wait until you’re at breaking point to ask for support.

Therapy isn’t about being unable to cope. It’s about having a space that’s just for you. A space where you don’t need to be the strong one, the helper, or the one with all the answers.

Just a space to be heard.

And sometimes, that’s exactly where things begin to change. 🤍

MAY 💛

LAURA: May! Honestly one of my favourite months of the year. 🌺 It started with a beautiful camp near Ben Lawyers (pic 1,2,3) and a hint of the sunny weather to come. Then it was our Portugal retreat, (pic 4,5,6,7) and what a joyous week that was and what an incredible group of people we got to connect with. ✨I returned home to very green Glasgow (pic 9) and the month was capped off by a sunny bank holiday weekend at the beach on the west coast (pics 10,11) In the words of one of our retreat guests “What A JOY!”

NIKITA: What a month it’s been! And what an epic start to the month, travelling to Portugal for our retreat. Every time I go back to that little corner of the Algarve, I love it more and more! It was such a special week. Spent with a fab group of people. Very much missing praticing with them all in Laura’s incredible yoga classes every morning. And the pond dips and coffee and chats. So much so, I ended the month on a yoga immersion of my own in Mallorca. It’s been a very different experience but in the guest shoes instead of the hosts! And has got me counting down the weeks until we’re back here for our retreat in October. Bring it on 🌞.
