At Frontrunners, we believe running is about more than miles—it’s about belonging.

Since 1978, our network of 130+ LGBT-affirming running clubs has welcomed people from all walks of life.

Whether you’re LGBT+ or an ally, a local or foreigner to the city, a first-time runner or a seasoned marathoner, you’re welcome here!

Gay Games València Rainbow Memorial Quilt Signing and Moment: As many of you may know at the Annual General Meeting we mentioned that we could not lay the quilt for signing on the ground without a protective sheet as part of the València Memorial Run. We will have a separate ceremony. The Memorial Moment is a solemn ceremony created to honor and commemorate members of the Gay Games community who have passed away. Originally established to honor those lost to AIDS and breast cancer, it has since expanded to include all deceased Gay Games activists.

The ceremony features commemorative speeches, the unfolding of the Memorial Moment panel, and a reading of the names.

On the occasion of Gay Games XII València 2026, the Memorial Moment will take place at MuVIM (Museu Valencià de la Il·lustració i la Modernitat), C/ Quevedo 10 y Guillem de Castro 8 46001 Valencia - accompanied by the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC, the local choir Cor a Cor, and a special Valencian touch provided by the Grup de Danses de Montcada.

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ International Frontrunners Day is 15 June 2026! How will your club be celebrating? International Front Runners (IFR) Day is an annual global celebration observed on June 15th to honor the worldwide network of LGBTQIA+ running and walking clubs. The day celebrates inclusivity, health, and community solidarity, encouraging members to hit the streets or trails to run, walk, and socialize. The event is held every June 15th (typically celebrated by clubs the weekend before or after their regular runs) in honor of author Patricia Nell Warren’s birthday. She wrote the groundbreaking 1974 novel The Front Runner, which inspired the establishment of the very first LGBTQ+ running club in San Francisco.
