Can you really become a Pilates teacher on a yacht in 7-days? 🤔

It’s a question I get asked a lot... and one I used to question myself.

After training 20+ yacht crew members in Pilates on yachts 40-100m+, I’ve learnt that it’s not simply about how long you train for. It’s about how the training is structured, who is teaching you, and the support you receive afterwards.

7 days won’t make you an experienced Pilates teacher. But with the right foundations, mentorship and mindset, it can be the beginning of something incredible.

When we got a request to offer a full Wellness Day onboard a 45m+ superyacht this summer... we listened (because this is where luxury wellness is going)... ✨

We brought two of our highly skilled practitioners onboard from 08:00-18:00 to spoil the guests to the maximum and give them the experience they were after...

From a nourishing breakfast and a morning yoga practice, through to personalised spa treatments, massage and Reiki, with breathwork to close off the day 🧘🏽‍♀️

At first, I was left confused by the simple questions that Captains would ask me about Pilates reformers… 🤔

Until I realised, I’m the expert here.

You may be the Captain of a large superyacht, but you probably don’t know much about this mysterious ‘Pilates reformer machine’ 😅 (it’s called a ‘Pilates reformer’ btw).

That’s my job.

I’m here to guide the Captains I meet as best I can and give well grounded recommendations on which reformers to rent or buy.

I’ve been practising on Pilates reformers for more than 20 years, and teaching elite clientele on reformers for over a decade. I’ve also taught Pilates on the world’s most beautiful yachts, ranging from 20m to 100m+ 🛥️

It’s totally normal that I see things and know things that Captains don’t about having reformers onboard.

For example, I know that buying a foldable reformer will be cheaper and less hassle to stow. But I also know that the guests will be desperately unhappy on it if you buy an Align Pilates F3 Foldable Reformer or a Balanced Body Metro IQ Reformer.

I also have a deep network of reformer suppliers who I know and trust to give my clients the best service, from delivery to installation and after sales service 🔧
