🤫 There’s a harsh reality most Pilates teachers won’t dare to admit…
🤫 They’re actually not making very good money…
That’s not my limiting belief.
It’s a fact.
Over my 12-years of teaching Pilates and owning studios in the South of France and Sweden, I’ve seen first hand:
1️⃣ How shore-based Pilates teachers and yachties who move ashore struggle to make proper money (or even minimum wage).
2️⃣ How studio owners struggle to pay their teachers (and themselves) well.
⏰ At its heart, the Pilates business model is built around exchanging time for money.
And while the new group reformer business model is more exciting financially and growing globally (with people like Raphael Bender and Christa Gurka - Fitness+Wellness Business Coach coaching people on how to do it), it takes a lot of the right ingredients to pull off and make a success in the long term. (And usually, the ones who really make it financially are those who build their studios and sell).
💸🛥️ This is where yachting comes in.
When you start adding Pilates to your skillset on yachts, you get an instant head start financially and more doors open.
On top of the chance to experience amazing places and meet inspiring people from around the world. 🌍
It’s not a silver bullet, and it’s definitely not easy…
💸 But teaching Pilates on yachts is a step in the right direction if you’re wanting to make Pilates your ultimate career.
If I could do it all again, I’d have saved up more whilst working onboard before choosing to move ashore and teach Pilates land-based.
