⚫⚪ MATCH REPORT – U16s GIRLS ⚫⚪
Albrighton FC 0–1 Castlecroft ⚽🐺
A frustrating result for our U16s Girls today, who were unfortunate to come away empty-handed after a closely contested game against Castlecroft.
The girls struggled to find their rhythm in the first half, but following a half-time team talk and a few tactical adjustments, they came out much stronger in the second. 💪
Albrighton grew into the game, showing greater intensity, determination and attacking intent. The girls finished on top and came agonisingly close to finding a deserved equaliser when Emilia unleashed a fantastic long-range effort that rattled the crossbar! 😩⚽
Despite the result, the effort and attitude shown throughout the second half were excellent, with the girls continuing to push right until the final whistle. 👏
Unfortunately, injuries also disrupted the afternoon, with both Amy and Lila forced off. Wishing them both a speedy recovery, and fingers crossed Amy’s black eye isn’t too bad! ❤️🩹
🏆 Girl of the Game: Lily – another brilliant defensive display! Lily was outstanding in her duels, winning countless challenges and showing excellent composure with some fantastic forward passes. A thoroughly deserved recognition! 👏
🏆 Opposition Voted Girl of the Game: Martha – a really solid performance at right-back, with perfectly timed challenges and some excellent distribution out of defence. Well done, Martha! 🙌
👏 Special mention to Keiva, who made her Albrighton debut today! A really positive first performance, showing great confidence and settling into the team brilliantly. Welcome to the squad! ⚫⚪
FT: Albrighton FC 0–1 Castlecroft
Not the result we wanted, but plenty of positives to take from that second-half performance. Keep working hard, keep believing and the results will follow!
📅 Next up: Another home fixture as we welcome Cradley next week.
Heads up, girls! We go again! ⚽⚫⚪
