You spoke — we listened! 🤝

We’ve made a few changes to make it easier for more paddlers to bring their own craft and enjoy the water at Carsington this autumn.

🍁 Autumn Self Launch — just £12 for the day

We’ve also updated our self-launch guidance:

🛶 Quality inflatable kayaks are now permitted
✅ We can accept other forms of suitable public liability insurance, giving you more flexibility
🌊 Bring your own kit and enjoy a day out on the water at your own pace

Beautiful autumn days on the reservoir are here, so grab your paddle, bring your own board or kayak and get out there 🍂

Grab a coffee, hot shower, chill in a deckchair & watch the wildlife 🦢

🍂 September is made for cycling 🚲

The summer crowds are easing, the trails are a little quieter and there’s that first hint of autumn in the air… September really is one of the loveliest times to get out on two wheels into the countryside, we’ve got three brilliant places to start your adventure:

🚲 Monsal Trail Cycle Hire at Hassop Station — head straight out onto the traffic-free Monsal Trail, through tunnels, over viaducts and into some of the Peak District’s most beautiful scenery.

🌊 Carsington Waterside Cycle Hire — explore the trails and countryside around Carsington Water, with fabulous waterside views along the way.

🌿 Hope Valley Bike Hire — a perfect starting point for exploring the beautiful Hope Valley and the surrounding Peak District.

Bikes for adults and children, helmets provided, and plenty of help from our teams to get you set up and on your way.

September is one of our favourite times at Carsington. It’s quieter, the water can be beautifully calm and there’s often more time with our instructors — perfect if you’ve always fancied trying something but weren’t quite sure where to start.
