It’s game day! After last week’s defeat to Brewmasters, with the game slipping away in the final 10 minutes after a solid performance holding a 1-0 lead, the lads will be looking to bounce back against Evans Athletic today!

Plenty to build on, but today is about turning that performance into a result. Come down and get behind the boys!

We knew this would be a big game, featuring big characters, high intensity and plenty of fire - and it certainly lived up to expectations.

From the first whistle, it was clear the match could go either way. Brews applied pressure to our back line and looked to use their width and wingers to create the opening goal. Forcing Freundy to make 2 worldy saves.

Pristine stayed strong, however, and Egid Aydin tested their keeper in reply before eventually we broke the deadlock. Pressure from Carlum Macleod forced the Brews goalkeeper to handle the ball outside the area, giving us a free-kick. Macleod stepped up and placed it in the net. 🎯

Half-time: Pristine 1-0 Brews.

The second half was just as entertaining, with strong tackles, plenty of attitude and a few handbags on display. 👜😂 Both teams enjoyed spells of possession and played some good football, but Brews found the equaliser when their winger fired an inch-perfect shot beyond the reach of our goalkeeper.

1-1.

Brews built on the momentum of the equaliser and increased the pressure, leaving us on the back foot for the remainder of the match. A dangerous cross led to a mistake in the box, resulting in a penalty and a red card for Aaron Lee Wharton, which the visitors converted to take the lead for the first time.

2-1 Brews.

Then, just before the final whistle in added time, Brews used the extra man to find a third and put the game beyond doubt.

Full-time: Pristine 1-3 Brews.

A difficult result to take after such a competitive contest, but credit to both teams for the effort, intensity and entertainment throughout. 👏

An unbeaten season speaks for itself, and we know the quality we’re up against. We’ll need to be sharp, disciplined and ready to battle for every ball from the first whistle.

MOM - EGID AYDIN! A hat-trick, an assist and an outstanding all-round performance in our emphatic 8–1 victory over Aldington.

Egid led the comeback with a composed equaliser, turned provider for Carlum MacLeod and then completed his treble with a brilliant solo goal and a confidently dispatched penalty.

Three goals. One assist. Defenders on strings.

After last week’s result, newly appointed manager Dave Robson emphasised a reaction was needed — and today, the boys delivered.

We know Aldington aren’t pushovers. They’ve got enough quality to punish mistakes, but today was about proving a point.

From the first whistle, Pristine dominated possession and piled on the pressure. Against the run of play, though, a short corner caught us sleeping at the near post and Aldington took the lead.

1–0.

We needed a response — and it came quickly. A change in formation turned the pressure into goals, with Tyrone Calveley playing a deadly pass into Egid Aydin, who calmly slotted home.

1–1. Game on.

The pressure continued and Egid turned provider, cushioning a pass into Carlum MacLeod, who kept his composure to make it 2–1.

Just before half-time, Egid put on a show. Taking on several players, he finished a brilliant individual run to grab his second and send us into the break 3–1 up.

The message at half-time was simple: capitalise on the lead and finish the job.

We didn’t have to wait long. A mistake from the Aldington keeper gifted Paldon Bepe the perfect opportunity to open his Pristine account for the new season!

4–1.

Then the floodgate opened..

Carlum was handed a free-kick in a dangerous position and, in true Carlum fashion, unleashed another absolute rocket. 🚀

5–1.

Minutes later, Egid tried to recreate his earlier solo goal but was brought down inside the box. He stepped up and made no mistake.

Hat-trick. 🎩⚽

6–1.

Captain Karl Levett played in Jack Selami on the edge of the box, with Selami taking one touch before burying it bottom corner.

7–1.

Iain Bremer has been firing throughout pre-season and kept that good form going. With the game all but done, Bremer decided he wanted one himself. Captain Karl Levett supplied the assist and Bremer provided the finish.

8–1. Job done. 💥

After last week, this was exactly the reaction we wanted.

Eight goals. Three points. A statement at Towers. 🏰

MOM - Dan Ngoma. The result didn’t go our way, but one man was putting in SERIOUS work.

Dan was everywhere. Relentless energy, battling for everything and driving us forward when we needed a response.

Not how we wanted to kick off our season as we leave Shadoxhurst on the wrong end of a 4–1 defeat.

With Freundy away for the opening game and Aaron Lee Wharton unable to go in the sticks with a recent broken hand, striker Josiah Hoad stepped up for the team and went between the sticks. 🧤👏

The opening 20 minutes proved costly. We were caught by two quick counter-attacks, both finished by former Pristine man Freddie Griffin, giving the Ox an early 2–0 advantage.

We had a golden opportunity to get ourselves back into the game when Tony Oladipupo was brought down inside the box. Carlum Macleod stepped up from the spot, but his penalty was kept out by the Shadoxhurst keeper.

One of those mornings.

𝗛𝗧: 𝟮–𝟬

Second half we came out with a completely different intensity, getting on the front foot and putting Shadoxhurst under pressure. Dan Ngoma gets wiped out in the box.

Penalty number two.

This time Dan Ngoma grabs the ball, steps up and places it straight into the bottom corner.

𝟮–𝟭.

Now we’ve got a game

Shadoxhurst were feeling the pressure and Tony was giving their back line an absolutely horrible morning.

Few kicks. Few shirt pulls. Few words exchanged…

Then the handbags came out. 👜😂

Bekim Ahmetaj ends up taking the punishment and gets sent to the naughty step with a sin bin. 🟨

Down to 10 at exactly the wrong time.

The Ox smelled blood, took advantage of the extra man and punished us making it 3-1.

Bazz rejoins the game and a mistake at the back with a miss-placed pass sees the ox strikers back in on goal to deal the final blow.

𝗙𝗧: 𝟰–𝟭.

A frustrating opening day, and definitely not the result we came for. Good game from Shaddoxhurst and good luck for the season gents, see you again soon.

After a long pre-season, we’re finally back. A new season. A new challenge. And it all starts tomorrow morning.

Our first fixture of the 2026/27 campaign sees us travel to our old rivals Shadoxhurst FC who was part of our 2024-25 season in division 2 and stacks up to be a great game of football as both teams will be looking to get the season off to the perfect start.
