🌹What a day at Twickenham🌹
Eight of our U18 Girls were invited to Twickenham to watch the Red Roses take on New Zealand, alongside RFU Women & Girls Council Representative, Lou Latter
From seeing the teams arrive and enjoying the incredible pre-match atmosphere, to taking our seats right on the halfway line for the anthems, haka and kick-off, it was an unforgettable experience 🙌
But the highlight of the day came after the final whistle, when Lou took the time to share her own rugby leadership journey and talk to the girls about the opportunities available within the game.
Her advice was simple but powerful:
“Take the opportunities you see.”
Lou spoke about applying for hundreds of opportunities throughout her career, learning from every setback and using each experience to grow. She encouraged the girls to be ambitious, get involved and never be afraid to put themselves forward.
The group also had the chance to learn more about the RFU Youth Council and county pathways, meet Kent RFU Council member Roger, and hear about inspiring rugby leaders such as Ashford’s own Amanda Johnston.
A huge thank you to Lou Latter for inviting and hosting us, sharing her experiences, making introductions and inspiring the next generation of female leaders in rugby ❤️💛🖤
Special thanks also to Elz Cole for helping arrange this fantastic opportunity, and to Matt for chaperoning the group throughout the day.
An amazing experience, plenty of inspiration, lots of laughs, and memories we’ll never forget! 📸✨
