🧭 It is looking like a VERY busy weekend!! 🌳 🏃

Inverness Orienteering Club are holding SOUL 5 at Scorguie, Inverness and SOL 3 at Glen Affric North which is also a world ranking event! Masterplan Adventure is holding an event at Carse of Ardersier if anyone is up for a double day of orienteering on Saturday!!

Meanwhile in the opposite end of the country Solway Orienteers are holding a local event at Drumlanrig. We also have the second Sportscotland Summer of Sport session at Balgay Park, Dundee which is fully booked!

Community Conversation - 9th September 7pm - Permanent Orienteering Courses – case studies and how we ensure they reach the audience. Come swap your experiences or find out others to implement in your area.

Club Networking Day - what's that you say? Call it idea swapping, a discussion opportunity or anything similar but essentially it is a chance for members from different clubs to come together and talk to each other and the SOA Board/ team about topical issues within the sport. Everyone is welcome.
This year following feedback we are trialling two days - one in the north and one in the south.
South - Saturday 12th September in Dunblane (Braeport Centre)
North - Saturday 19th September in Boat of Garten (Community Hall)

Grade C Controllers Course - 17th October 2026
Controllers are a vital part of orienteering allowing clubs to continue to stage high quality events and ensuring that competitors get the best experience possible. It's a rewarding role with the added enjoyment of time in terrain without the pressures of competition, thinking about the routes, control sites and maps.

Sign up now for the next Club Coach course being offered by Scottish Orienteering in Edinburgh on 16th/17th September. A fun, practical 2 day in person course aimed at developing new coaches within our clubs. The course will include a mix of theory, discussions and the planning, preparation and delivery of coaching sessions providing you with the skills needed to deliver coaching sessions.

The East Area are organising the Interarea Weekend. The Interarea weekend is a highlight of the junior orienteering calendar and we encourage all juniors along.
