𧱠KEEP BUILDING YOUR FOUNDATIONS π§±
Just like this Jenga tower, our bodies rely on strong foundations.
Strong bones, healthy joints, good posture, balance, mobility and muscle strength all work together to help us move well and stay active for longer.
The good news is that it's never too late to start investing in your future self.
Every Pilates class, walk, strength session and healthy choice helps build a stronger foundation for the years ahead.
Small daily actions really do make a big difference. β€οΈ
What have you done this week to support your health and wellbeing?

It's finally shoulder week!
After six weeks of studying, reading, testing, practising and generally becoming a complete shoulder geek, I'm ready to share some of the many gems I've learnt.
This week we'll be taking a closer look at shoulder movement, releasing unnecessary tension and so much more!
Hoping for a few lightbulb moments, expect some gentle challenges and, hopefully, shoulders that feel a little freer by the end of class.
See you on the mat! π

THE PLEASURE OF AN UNINTERRUPTED STRETCH SESSION...
Featuring Eddie πΆ
If you exercise at home with pets, you'll understand! π
The moment you get into a lovely stretch...
Suddenly someone needs to help.
Or inspect.
Or sit on you.
Or steal your mat.
Anyone else's pets think they're a Pilates instructor? πΆβ€οΈ
feel free to share your photos!...

πΆ EDDIE'S WEEKEND TIP
Go somewhere exciting!
Life is about balance...
Move your body.
Explore somewhere new.
Spend time with people you love.
Even if it's just a short walk, a coffee stop or a local adventure.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
Love,
Eddie πΎ

πͺ JUST A FRIENDLY REMINDER...
As much as I love Pilates, Pilates alone isn't enough for optimal health.
Pilates is fantastic for improving posture, mobility, balance, body awareness, core strength and movement quality, but for a healthy, resilient body we also need:
ποΈ Strength Training β to build and maintain muscle and bone strength.
β€οΈ Cardiovascular Exercise β to support heart health, stamina and overall wellbeing.
πΆ Regular Walking & Daily Movement β because our bodies are designed to move, not sit all day!
My own weekly routine includes Pilates, strength training, two spin classes each week and plenty of dog walking with Eddie. πΆ
Think of Pilates as one important piece of the puzzle rather than the whole picture.
A balanced body needs a balanced exercise programme.
What are you doing alongside your Pilates classes? π

This week's Pilates homework is simple... πΆββοΈβοΈ
As you walk, notice whether your arms swing freely and naturally.
When we walk well, the thoracic spine gently rotates, the pelvis counter-rotates, and the whole body moves in a wonderfully coordinated rhythm. This natural movement helps keep the spine mobile, the body balanced, and walking feeling effortless.
I like to call it your body's natural "spine juicing" system! π
So whether you're walking the dog, heading to the shops, or enjoying a summer stroll, pay attention to how you move.
Less stiffness.
More flow.
More movement.
More life.
Happy walking! π

β¨ What a wonderful evening it was... β¨
It was such a pleasure to see everyone relaxing and unwinding in such a magical setting at last night's Enchanted Release: MELT, Roll, Restore workshop.
The evening was all about letting go of tension, creating space in the body and taking time to simply slow down.
I hope everyone slept well afterwards and is enjoying a peaceful, relaxing weekend.
Friday evening workshops are always one of my favourite events to teach. There is something special about finishing the week together, leaving the stresses of the working week behind and stepping into the weekend feeling calmer, lighter and more restored.
Thank you all for joining me and for helping to create such a lovely atmosphere. π

DON'T FORGET TO HAVE FUN! β€οΈ
Movement should bring joy.
One of the things I love most about movement is that it doesn't always have to be serious.
Sometimes the best thing you can do for your wellbeing is laugh, smile and enjoy yourself.
Movement should challenge us, support us and occasionally make us giggle too! π
Have a wonderful day everyone.

β€οΈ MORE THAN JUST A PILATES CLASS β€οΈ
One of the lovely things about coming to Pilates at BodySong Wellness Studio is that it's not just about exercise.
Over time, clients get to know one another, friendships form, and our studio becomes a supportive community where everyone feels welcome.
Whether you're brand new to Pilates or have been attending for years, you'll be greeted with a smile, encouraged when you're having a difficult day, and celebrated when things are going well.
Many of our clients arrive knowing nobody and leave having made new friends.
Pilates may bring us together, but it's the kindness, laughter, support and sense of belonging that keeps our community growing.
After all, life is always better when you're surrounded by good people. β€οΈ

π¦· THIS WEEK'S PILATES HOMEWORK π¦·
The easiest way to improve your balance is to build it into something you already do every day!
You brush your teeth twice a day, so why not stand on one leg while you're doing it? Try 30 seconds on one leg, then swap sides. If needed, keep a fingertip lightly touching the sink for support.
Why?
Because balance isn't just about muscles β it's also about something called proprioception.
Proprioception is your body's ability to know where it is in space without having to look. It's what helps you walk across uneven ground, step off a kerb, reach for something behind you, or catch yourself if you trip.
As we get older, proprioception naturally declines if we don't challenge it, which can affect balance, coordination and confidence in movement. The good news is that it can be trained at any age!
Just a minute or two each day can help:
β
Improve balance
β
Strengthen the feet, ankles and legs
β
Improve body awareness
β
Reduce the risk of falls
β
Keep your brain and body communicating effectively
So next time you're brushing your teeth, make it a balance workout too! π¦·π¦΅β¨
Who knew good balance was so useful at 7am?! π
