⛳️ Inclusive Golf Day 2026 @ Chiltern Forest Golf Club 💙

What a beautiful day it was for Scott Richardson’s Inclusive Golf Day, held in support of Limbpower.

It was a day that perfectly demonstrated what golf can be about - bringing people together, creating opportunities, breaking down barriers and, above all, celebrating what people can do.

A huge thank you to all of the disabled golfers who joined us and made the day so memorable. It was a privilege to welcome you to Chiltern Forest and to see so much talent, determination and personality out on the course. You certainly showed us your superpowers! 💪

A very special thank you must go to Scott Richardson, whose hard work and commitment, as usual, made the whole day possible. Scott continually goes above and beyond for others, and this event was another wonderful example of the kind of person he is. We’re incredibly fortunate to have him as part of our club.

Thank you also to our sponsors, HCC Solicitors, for their generous support and for helping make such a fantastic day possible.

Behind the scenes, Kirsty, Damien and the entire catering team were outstanding once again. The food, hospitality and service were first class throughout, thank you for looking after everyone so brilliantly.

Our greenkeeping team also deserve enormous credit. The golf course looked absolutely immaculate and provided a fantastic stage for such a special occasion.

Finally, thank you to everyone who played, supported the day, bought raffle tickets, bid in the auction or contributed in any way. Every bit of support helped raise valuable funds for Limbpower and contributed to the success of the event.

Days like this remind us that golf is about so much more than a scorecard. It’s about community, inclusion, friendship and giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful game.

Thank you to everyone who made it a day to remember. 💙⛳️

⛳ Seniors Captain’s Day – Cross Country Chaos! 🏆

Thanks to Ian Thompson for the report.

Tuesday saw 73 players take on this year’s Seniors Captain’s Day at Chiltern Forest, with a sh***un start and a very different challenge — a cross-country course made up mainly of Par 3s, with a couple of cheeky Par 4s thrown in!

Designed primarily by Head Greenkeeper Steve Horwood, the course produced some brilliant and unusual holes, including the 10th red tee to the 1st green, the side of the 4th green to the 7th, and the 2nd green all the way down to the 12th!

With handicaps reduced to 60%, there was some excellent scoring:

🏆 Lowest Gross: Phil Gascoyne – 58 (2 over par)

Under 65s
🥇 Alex Jackson – Net 55 (CB)
🥈 Lee Walker – Net 55

Ages 65–74
🥇 Tony Hodgson – Net 53
🥈 Colin Harreigan – Net 56

Ages 75+
🥇 Ian Fyfe – Net 54
🥈 Leslie Brown – Net 57

🎯 Nearest the Pin – 5th: Peter Smith
🎯 Nearest the Pin – 11th: Vince Hemsley

After the golf, everyone enjoyed a free drink and Sharkey’s fantastic roast meat carvery, followed by the raffle and auction.

Six 4-ball vouchers raised an incredible £930, with another £370 from the raffle, giving a brilliant total of £1,300 for the Seniors Captain’s Charity. The money will go towards a specific improvement project on the golf course, which is still to be agreed.

👏 A huge thank you to Steve Horwood and the greens team for creating such a fun and memorable course, Sharkey and the food & beverage team for the superb meal and hospitality, and Tom Kemp in the golf shop for getting the results sorted in record time.

Finally, thank you to all 73 players who supported the day and, of course, to our Seniors Captain for what was clearly a hugely successful Captain’s Day.

A fantastic day of golf, food, laughter and fundraising. Well done everyone! ⛳👏

🍂 THE AUTUMN PRIZE - FOURSOMES (alt shot) 🍂

Congratulations to Adam Altinkaya & Elliot Shepherd, who produced an exceptional 48 points (gross 81) from a 22 handicap to claim this year’s Autumn Prize. 🏆

A commanding seven-point victory, with Kane Blanchard & Paul Kent taking second place on 41 points, closely followed by Edward Fox & Sunil Karia on 40.

A fine performance from our winners...48 points is certainly one way of ensuring the Handicap Committee learns your name. 👀

⛳️ A HOLE-IN-ONE FOR CHRIS HORWOOD! 🍾

Congratulations to Chris Horwood, who has achieved one of golf’s finest feats with a hole-in-one! 👏

Of course, those who know Chris at Chiltern Forest will know him as the club's fastest golfer, and it appears even walking to the green and putting was simply taking too long. One swing, job done. 😂

A fantastic achievement and one to remember. Many congratulations, Chris! 🥂⛳️
