2026. What a year. Absolute rollercoaster. 🎢

As the season comes to an end, I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has been part of it.

It’s been a year of highs, lows, challenges and some really special moments, but one I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being part of & something I’m proud of.

I’ve worked incredibly hard to get back racing after a really difficult year or two. After being let down and missing a season and a half, there was a point where I genuinely wasn’t sure if I’d race again, never mind how competitive I’d be when I returned.

A huge thank you to Michael Laverty, Nathan Smith and everyone at GRYD Racing for all their hard work, commitment and belief in me throughout the season. I’ve had a fantastic group of people around me, and I really can’t thank them enough for the effort they’ve put in. Kyal Tinker, Andy & Logan 💪

Unfortunately, the season ended in a way none of us wanted.

Going into the final race at Brands Hatch, starting from the second row in wet conditions, I genuinely felt we had a chance of fighting for the win. We also had fourth in the championship within reach.

Sadly, it was over almost before it began.

After looking through the data, we discovered an issue with the launch settings which meant I had no traction control during the launch. With 100% throttle and over 200 horsepower in wet conditions, the outcome was pretty brutal.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have walked away from it.

Motorcycle racing is a team sport, and sometimes things happen that nobody intends or anticipates. Everyone involved has given me 100% this year, and one unfortunate moment doesn’t change that.

I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and incredibly grateful to everyone who has worked so hard behind the scenes.

I really can’t thank alphaRacing & Carl Cox Motorsport enough along with all my sponsors and supporters who have made this season possible.

Also it was a pleasure to share the garage with my team mate Lewis, & his family, best wishes to him on his next challenge!

Plenty of positives to take away, plenty learned, and a lot to look forward to.

The British Superbike Championship's penultimate Showdown round of the year kicks off at Donington Park this coming weekend (2nd - 4th October) and Carl Cox BMW-By MLav Racing's Simon Reid will be aiming to repeat this season's previous podium performance there.
