The Olympic Legacy Fund is open for applications!

Thanks to funding from Communities NI, £2 million is available to sports clubs, community groups, and charities to improve community sports facilities and equipment.

In 2026/27, funding will be made available in two tranches – £1m in September, and a further £1m in November.

Delivered in partnership with Crowdfunder applicants will need to setup crowdfunding campaigns. Sport NI will then make a 65% contribution while the remaining 35% must be raised through supporters.

The MacCombe sisters are back!

Judith and Chloe MacCombe will be competing for Triathlon Ireland at the World Triathlon Para Championships on Friday at 9am in the PTVI category.

Judith, with her guide Eimear Nicholls and Chloe, with guide Jemma Speers have had a successful year to date as they continue to build towards LA 2028.

We're proud to support them through our Sports Institute.

99 points for Katie Morrow at IWBF World Championships!

Morrow came so close to a medal for British Wheelchair Basketball as they finished fourth but it was an outstanding Championships for the Ballyclare player.

She scored 23, 20, 18 and 17 points in four of her eight appearances finishing the top points scorer in three of Great Britain's matches.

Good luck to our three NI boxers at the European Elite Championships!

Jon McConnell, Jude Gallagher and Michaela Walsh will compete in Sofia with the action getting underway on 17 September.

McConnell is fresh off his gold medal at the 2026 Commonwealth Games with Michaela claiming silver in Glasgow. Jude, who won bronze for TeamNI completes the NI trio as part of a 14 person Boxing Ireland squad.

We're joining Police Service of Northern Ireland in their Power to Change campaign to call out online abuse against women & girls.

In sport, words can have lasting consequences leading to people not feeling welcomed or leaving a sport. Sport is for everyone regardless of ability, age, race and gender.

Part of our Be Seen, Be Heard, Belong campaign encourages male allies to support women & girls to take part in physical activity with words of encouragement and support.

Northern Ireland 1st and 3rd at Archery GB National Tour Finals!

Athlete Award recipients Conor Hall and Patrick Huston went head to head at the National Tour Finals with Conor claiming the Recurve Title.

The Belfast duo faced off in the semi finals as Conor advanced to the final with Patrick winning his third placed encounter. It's brilliant to see the pair competing at the top of GB Archery and being role models of NI elite level sport.

FOUR EUROPEAN MEDALS FOR BRADY!

Dearbhaile Brady made a big splash by winning three silvers and a bronze at the European Para Swimming Championships!

The 19 year old Feeny native claimed medals in the 50m Freestyle, 100m Breaststroke, 200m Individual Medley and 50m Butterfly.

Have your say on National Lottery Good Causes Funding!

The government has launched a review of National Lottery Good Causes funding, asking the public to have their say on where the money should go and how it should be spent.

We encourage everyone with an interest in the future of National Lottery funding to take part in the consultation and share their views.

The call for evidence will end at midday on 23 September and is open to members of the public, organisations and communities across the UK.
