What an intense 'heat' week!
With temperatures hitting melting point, my main focus this week was ensuring the ultimate safety of everyone.
This did mean making the hard but right decision to cancel a couple of classes due to the extreme intensity of the heat 🔥😎
For the classes that went ahead, we adapted!
✅ Swapped high-energy tracks for slightly slower vibes
✅ Lowered the overall intensity
✅ Modified our moves across all classes
✅ Plenty of water breaks
Did we still sweat?
Absolutely.
Red faces, glowing skin and a literal feeling of melting! 🥵🫠
It was a challenge, but we did it.
We moved and we sweated together as one big "glowing" Zumba family! ✨

As Carol brilliantly put it:
"I was going to be sweating at home anyway, might as well sweat in class instead!"

Sweat, smiles and... surprise star jumps! 🤸♀️✨
Absolutely loved the vibes at our Pollyfield Zumba class tonight.
Showing up for yourself is the hardest part - especially when it's cold and grey outside 🌧️
But the post-workout feeling is always worth it.

So I've officially been back on the dancefloor for a week, after my 2 week break. Where I made a point of actually switching off!!
I hung up the trainers, caught up on sleep and just enjoyed being with my family 💛☀️
It’s so easy to feel guilty about doing "nothing"
BUT...
Recovery is actually essential if we want to keep showing up and doing the work.
That said, this first week back has been a massive reality check!
Switching the brain and body back on after 2 weeks of "holiday mode" isn't easy 😳
Going from the relaxed pace of Spain back into a rigid routine is a bit of a shock.
Mentally, it has felt like a proper uphill climb to get focused again.
My body most definitely felt a lot older! Really tight and sluggish.
It’s amazing how quickly you lose that "spring" when you break your weekly routine.
My co-ordination was all over the place. I was making mistakes in every class 🤦🏻♀️
Despite the stiff muscles and the clumsy footwork, the break was 100% worth it.
It’s just going to take a bit of time for my body to forgive me, for the time off! 🙏🏻😂
A gentle reminder, if you're feeling the same ...
Be patient with yourself.
We’ll get our rhythm back soon enough.

Rest isn't a break from the work. It's a requirement for the work! ✨
It took me about three full days of holiday before I actually stopped "working" in my head.
Once I hit that "Day 3" wall and finally let myself just be, everything changed, I literally felt the shift.
We racked up some steps exploring Parque de la Paloma, the Marina, found the Spanish markets and happened upon an amazing food festival 🇪🇸
The rest of the holiday was pure sunshine and lazy days by the pool watching Chloe turn into a mermaid with her underwater handstands!
I’ve actually eaten my own body weight in food while I’ve been away... think chorizo sandwiches, mega muffins, pizza, and pastries! 🥐🍕🍉🍩
So I'm recharged, slightly sun-kissed and so ready to get back on the dancefloor, I’ve really missed our dance floor madness! 🤪💃🏻

Such good fun on Good Friday morning at Abbotsham Zumba Gold. I went full bunny mode, ears and all 🤪
I was convinced they’d be off by the second track but I actually kept the ears on for both classes with zero "ear-related" casualties during the routines!
Thank you lovely ladies for joining me for some Good Friday silliness and a well-deserved Creme Egg treat!
