Run by the Rotary Club, Two Moors 100 is a challenging, but rewarding cycle. Choose to ride either 100km or 100 miles across the countryside of Devon.
A great event with challenging courses the 100 mile (160km) visiting both Exmoor and Dartmoor travels through some of the most scenic countryside in the British isles with great climbs and long sweeping descents. Cheque presentation of £500 for South West Blood Bikes
from funds raised from the Tour of Torridge Cycle Challenges
It was with great pleasure that the 2 Rotary Clubs Presidents, John Wilson for Bideford Bridge club and Richard James for Bideford Tarka club were able to present a cheque for £500 to Phil Walker representing South West Blood Bikes,
at a Club meeting on 19th October.
In thanking the Clubs for their donation, Phil elaborated on how South West Blood Bikes helps volunteer bikers using their advanced motorcycle skills in providing an ‘out of hours’ service, supporting their NHS partners to transport essential urgent supplies such as Whole Blood, Pathology Samples, Medication, Medical Equipment, Medical Notes and occasionally Donor Breast Milk to the NHS hospitals and hospices throughout Devon and beyond.
The Tour of Torridge Cycle Challenges Event proved very popular and successful held on 18th September with the choice of 50km or 100km circuits from Bideford through Devon villages mostly on country lanes, well marshaled by Rotary members and in so doing raised important funds for charitable causes. It was particularly helpful on this day that one of the 'Blood Bikers' supervised the last cyclists back to home base.
